Progress Lighting P6343-28 Flood Light with Backplate for Outdoor Use

R. Riddle: I bought 5 of these to replace outside 3-hole flood lamp device boxes when I needed an additional device hole to add a 1/2" extension for a motion sensor at each box. I concur with other reviews in that the threads on the 4 outer holes on mine were too loaded with residual paint to easily screw in a floodlamp holder. But on mine, the innermost thread on those outer holes was also incompletely cut; leaving some residual slag where the holes end into the body. I was using some Sigma lampholders which needed to be threaded farther in than they would go on at least a hole or two on all 5 back plates without bottoming out against that slag.

So besides clearing out the paint in the threads, you may need to actually cut the inner most thread or two clean through to the inside or the floodlamp holders won't screw all the way in.

I ended up buying a 1/2"-14 NPS/NPSM tap and running it through each of those outer device holes to both chase the excess paint out the threads and also complete the threading all the way through the hole to the inside of the box. FrankN: I just put in several outdoor lights. I used about 12 of these in white and gray. These are terrific. I did have to retap the holes with a 1/2 inch pipe tap to get the pipe thread fittings to seat because of the powder coating.

Jennifer Mestayer-Kidd: I bought the sigma outdoor spotlight holders for 2.97 each at lowes and a sigma dual to dawn sensor. It takes a little maneuvering and the paint on the threads makes it hard to screw the lamp holders in, but it can be done. Just use a wire brush or dremel to remove some paint from the threads, or use some lube. I now have 4 spotlights on each corner of my house!!! Total cost was 12.00 plus 10.00 for the dusk sensor, plus the bulbs!!!

Jeff H.: Sturdy metal construction. Hole plugs include o-rings.

Does not work with Hubbell RACO LTS100WH, the threads on the LTS100 were all wrong.
I ended up buying the 'Sigma Electric, White 14330WH Lampholder' and they work well, just not quite as posable as the LTS100's.
