Prairie1: I can't have dairy, and store-bought non-dairy yogurts are full of fillers, stabilizers and more, plus the plastic containers just accumulate around the house.
Finally, I decided to try homemade non-dairy coconut-cashew yogurt, bought this, and I couldn't be happier. Simple to use, and yogurt is perfect every time. I just use about 1/3 cup of the previous batch (3 probiotic capsules the first time) for a 3-ingredient yogurt without any weird additives, and it honestly just gets better, thicker, and tangier with every batch. I have been using it for about a year and have fresh yogurt every morning. Also, I love the fact that it's a single container, not a bunch of small jars to juggle. Recommend!

andre bernard: Used the Yogourmet 2 liter size in the 90's but couldn't find one anymore so I purchased this.
Glad that I did! My first probiotic batch came out "perfect" after 9 hrs incubation.
My second batch, using some yogurt from the first batch, also came out perfect! And I flavored that one with sugar and vanilla. Store bought doesn't come close to the taste and texture of my yogurt!
It's also smaller than the Yogourmet.
All in all I highly recommend it!

Von - Montreal: Certain starters need very specific temperatures to succeed. There is no temperature control which has made me ruin some of my batches. Also some recipes call for a little air to enter the container as the yogurt forms. This unit does not allow that. When I leave the inner lid a loose, it is very difficult to remove the yogurt container from the unit.

K. Green: I am determined to stop buying yogurt in plastic containers so this is one of my solutions. It makes almost 5 cups of yoghurt and the integrated container is great for keeping it in the fridge. I definitely recommend this for others trying to reduce their plastic container use.

TommiTommi: I did not judge the size and couldn't visualize even with the measurements given. Came in a very nice box, compact and outside seems like stainless steel kitchen gadget. Looks very nicely made with temperature range and time monitor digitally represented and everything. The container seemed sturdy enough and I just loved the cuteness of it. I love new kitchen toys! But! It's very small. Maybe expecting slightly larger. Will suit one person very well but because of going through the initial process of yoghurt making, it will have to be done a 2nd time too. Although a second container can be bought from Proctor Silex for setting a second one in to solve the small quantity problem. There's a review here stating that the tabs break. I thought of that too and good to order another couple. Also can use the same with a rubber band around it? Don't think the heat is high enough to melt the rubber. I have tested the temperature and it is constant at 110 degrees the temperature i placed the water in. 32 oz is not a small amount as that is the amount I make in my IP or myself, and bringing the pot out and washing/sterilizing the pot, lid and gasket, and others is getting a bit of a pain....

ColoRob: I'm new to making yogurt even though I was a Professional Chef for 30+ years. I really like this yogurt maker. It's basically plug in and press the On button. If you want a more Greek style yogurt, just add some additional time to the timer to get the tangier flavor and firmer texture Greek Yogurts tend to have (I go 14 hours for mine for a lighter tangy flavor). The look of the yogurt maker is clean and modern, takes very little space and is really easy to clean. I would have given this 5 Stars, but wish it made a larger batch, or if came with a 2nd container so you can have 1 in the refrigerator ready to eat and the other ready for making a new batch before the older one runs out. Outside of that, this is a definite purchase if you don't need to make more then 1 quart of yogurt at a time. There are a lot of recipes out there giving different Temps to bring the Milk up to and then to cool down in order to add the Cultures. Here's how I make mine after researching and experimenting with several different recipes, but using the same Yogurt Culture Brand (Yo'gourmet Probiotic Yogurt Starter). I find that heating my Dairy (4 cups) and Gelatin (1/8th oz) in a double boiler up to...

Mona: I have had this for two months; it makes great yogurt every time. I love that it's small on the counter and I can put the container directly in the refrigerator after the yogurt has fermented. It makes about 6 small servings which was the perfect amount until [1] my kids came home from college and [2] I started making Greek yogurt. To meet everyone's needs, I ferment the yogurt for about 7 hours [the product heats up to 10]. The more you heat it, the thicker and tarter the yogurt will be. Then I strain it in this simple strainer [If you don't like gadgets, I recommend this simple and cheap strainer: https://www.amazon.com/JoyMech-Yogurt-Strainer-BPA-Free-Creamy/dp/B0BCXXTM66/ref=sr_1_7_sspa?crid=3JPPQ5VRNQ3YT&keywords=yogurt+strainer&qid=1687614667&sprefix=yogurt+strainer%2Caps%2C94&sr=8-7-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1]. It makes the most amazing, smooth, creamer and sweet yogurt. However, because the straining cuts the amount of yogurt in half, it only makes about 3 servings per batch. Each batch takes less than an hour of cooking, 7 hours of fermenting, several hours of coagulating in the fridge and several more hours of draining the whey...
