It works OK. Letting the hose in slow is a problem, it stops retracting very easily.
Most frustrating, though, is that out of the box the entire hose was coated in something sticky that leaves your hands feeling like they're covered in sticky wax or a thick grease. I gave the hose a quick wipe with acetone and my rag turned brown. And the hose is still sticky. I may need to replace the hose because I will use this primarily with wood working tools and I don't want this junk all over my wood. I will not buy another Primefit product.

With unit installed on wall, floor is free of hose. Don't know how I lived without all these years. Really nice and sturdy. One person CAN install but much easier if you have a helper and mount on board which can then be mounted on wall.

Excellent value; very strong spring and hose very flexible.
Update: June, 2017: the ratcheting mechanism is still great, with a very strong "pull: however, the hose itself is still fine, but where it attaches to the ferrule for the quick-connects(the side where you attach your tools) has split over time and caused an air leak. Fortunately, I had a new GOODYEAR (red) hose that I replaced it with(not too difficult). However, I am disappointed with the quality of this assembly as I have never experienced this type of failure with any of my other hoses.

I like the build and quality. Not an easy install because of the weight, but that's good! It isn't going anywhere soon and the rubner hose quality is top notch.
The best feature is the ability to unbolt and rotate the mounting bracket so that I can mount it in a hanging position with the hose portal at 90 degrees. This is one one solid unit. Used for home garage.. No air tools just air nozzles and tires inflated and such. Very happy... And I bought mine with slightly damaged packaging for a lower price from Amazon...

The hose is good quality but the second time I reeled it in, the spring-reel mechanism broke. Now it wont reel in. It is made from good quality metal that will last a lifetime. Hopefully the reel mechanism is a easy fix because I don't know if I can send it back or not
