Archie Nowell: Super easy to open and remove origional key fob case. The circuit board had something stickey on it, probably because it was damaged and letting dirt and any type of liquid to seep into it. Had to adjust the battery clip a little bit so the new battery would make contact.
At first it wouldn't work but after adjusting it works great! Looks like it is brand new and works like to.
Great value! Anyone can replace their old key fob case. Save lots of money by doing so. Recommended. You will be impressed how easy it is to do, you will be asking yourself why didn't I do it sooner.

Poppy22: I have cracked my key fob several times on my 15 yr old silverado. You can buy these (if in stock) at local auto parts stores. But the last couple of times i needed to replace the casing I just ordered them thru Amazon. Works great, tight fit. But thats good. Help to keep the water out when i leave them in a pocket an run it thru the washing machine.

Amazon Customer: I have tried other brands of this fob and after a short time they broke. This set works great and easy to install the electronics . It seems to be a battery problem with the others but this one goes together with no issues. Better quality. There are two battery types that fit these but one is smaller so that may be the reason some people are having problems with a loose battery. Cr2032 fits this fob perfectly.

Peter: Didn’t even last 6 weeks. The buttons stick so I tried filing the holes open a bit, it helped, but not entirely. Extremely difficult to snap together, which you do want it to stay so not entirely bad. The ink on the buttons began to rub off right away. The final straw was that the case cracked on both top corners and fell apart. This is just from riding in my pocket, not really being abused. I decided to go with a Dormer one from the green and white auto store, begins with an O’. It came with 3 backs, all with different battery holder configurations to match your existing one. I guess some years are slightly different. Since some on here mentioned of loose batteries and not being able to close theirs, I guess that is true. The package does not say, but the clerk said it has a Lifetime Warranty and just bring it back for a new one if anything happens. So although the Dormer one was a bit more expensive, I should never have to buy another one.

MMMM: I bought two of these. The first one did not work. That's when I realized the battery did not fit properly. The OEM case is on the left and the battery area has a little ring that is a little raised up which makes sure the battery has good contact with the circuit. The new case clearly does not. So for the new case, I cut an old plastic grocery store tag and it raised the battery up enough to create contact and it works perfectly. I tried the second case without raising the battery and it worked just fine right out of the box. So one required a little modification and the other worked fine without modification. The plastic on the new remote cases seems like it is more durable than the OEM ones, but time will tell. 4 stars because I had to modify one of them.

JPD: only issue appears to be the positioning of the battery. There are multiple comments on this issue. I placed a thin plastic spacer between the case and the battery as well as adjusted the battery contacts on the circuit board to give more pressure.
