An honest, good quality collar. My 95# Boxer is hard on collars, and I expect this one to last a long time. It’s tough, yet pliable, making it comfortable for him. I use a harness on him while on a leash as a collar may slip off, unless you adjust it to “strangle” size. Boxers are built like torpedoes. The collars , for us, is a thing to put a nameplate and rabies tag on to show he belongs to someone in the event he would get away.

A year or so ago, I bought Sleepy Pup leather collars for my 2 boys and they are holding up amazingly well (I clean and condition every couple of weeks), they've proven to be very durable and still look great. A few months ago, I adopted a little girl and wanted a pink leather collar so I bought one elsewhere (limited colors for Sleepy Pup leather). WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS! It was supposed to be "real leather" but seemed to be some kind of bonded leather, pink rubber coated, junk. After a month or so of use, the coating was cracking and I couldn't keep it clean (my dogs think their pigs). So I ordered her leather Sleepy Pup collar, which I should have just done in the first place! With cleaning and conditioning, these collars will undoubtedly last for my dogs lifetimes, there isn't a better value than that! The only reason I gave 4 stars for comfort is this is thick, heavy, quality leather but the edges are cut straight and can be a bit irritating unless you really work the leather hard before they wear. A slight bevel on the inside edges would help. But because the leather is such high quality, I didn't have to worry about compromising the integrity by punching...

I really like this collar for my pup. When she was young a a little chewy she was able to chew a few inches off the end. My pup scratches it all the time and it leave snarks but soon the marks are gone. Luckily it still fit well and is still holding up 6 months later. Product looks better after a couple months as the leather absorbs oil from your pupper.
