PowerSmart 21-Inch Gas Lawn Mower with 170CC OHV Engine

Rae: First mistake was believing the positive ratings. I don't see how anyone could give this thing 5 stars without having been compensated to do so. Took 7 tries to get it to start first time. Then when pushing through tall grass, even at maximum mowing height, the blade stops and the engine shuts down and it won't start again right away. In fact, when this happened to me I tried 5-6 pulls at a time, many, many times over a two-day period before the engine finally fired up - a total of 43 attempts (yes, you read that right). It also runs out of gas very quickly requiring a fill-up three times just to mow a 1/4 acre yard. And of course, having to stop it to re-fill, good luck getting it to start up again. To add insult to financial injury, what with family illness I've missed the 30-day free return and I'll have to pay to send it back myself - and me with a very small monthly pension. Worst purchase experience in my life. Worst mower ever !!!

Knipple S.: Liked the mower and the price. Received in three days. Out of the box very pleased. Have been mowing with push mowers for over 40 years, one of my favorites from the beginning. Starts quick and easy, good power, and this time of year mulch leaves, it did well. But, after just like 6 uses the engine froze up on me and wouldn't allow for pull start. But...
Contacted the company through Amazon return, and received a reply within 24 hours. Replaced the mower within four days, incredible customer service, I haven't seen in 20 years. Again, new mower started right up and had the same kind of power as the first.
Will update if I have a similar problem with this new one, but just hoping I got a dud, but the customer service alone deserves a high rating.

Know it all Mike: This is a small mower which seems built well enough, but also has a few draw backs. This arrived nearly fully assembled out of the box, but did not include the motor oil required. I've bought other machines on Amazon which were prepackaged with a bottle of motor oil, pre measured in the exact amount needed for the engine. I'm assuming this was not included due to boarder restrictions from China.

The mower I received is cheaply built, but meets the minimum requirements for an effective hand mower. I mow about a quarter of an acre of grass with it. It shakes more than any hand mower I've operated since the 1970's, and when I'm finished mowing my clothes stink like gas fumes. The mower is noisy! for a small light mower. That said, it's fairly powerful, starts easy, and mows very well even in high grass. Even on the highest setting it still mows low for my yard.

Angel Eastep: Do not buy!! It stopped working a few days after it was bought. It had nothing to do with the kind of grass, or any other concerns. It’s just a piece of Junk. Me and my spouse know lawn mowers. I used to sell parts for Sears and she was a heavy equipment operator. So something like a regular push mower is just that normal. But to last only 35 days??!! It was a waste of energy. I tried to contact the seller to find out warranty information. I never even got a response.

j. harrison: So, I needed a new mower... I really didn't want to go to a big box store and shop for one because here in Upstate New York the mask wearing and social distancing is in full effect. And it's a pain in the butt dealing with all that nonsense. So I turned to Amazon. I found this mower for 170$. It was here in 4 days and in perfect condition. I pulled it out of the box, tightened up 4 screws, threw some oil and gasoline in it and it started on the first pull. It cuts great, didn't get bogged down by my overgrown yard and has a better fuel economy than my old mower. If you use a push mower and are in need of a new one, get this machine!!! It's really a great deal!
