POWERLIX Inflatable Sleeping Mat - Ultralight and Comfortable for Camping and Backpacking

Sean C WoodSean C Wood: I've tried a lot of bigger sleeping mats camping but I was flying this trip to camp and I needed to pack something small. This mat is barely bigger than a water bottle when rolled up! But then it rolls out and it's so long! (I'm a 5'7" 120 pound woman) and it's definitely longer than me. Very close to as wide as my sleeping bag. And it's really comfortable too! I slept on it three nights and was perfectly comfortable. A traditional four inch thick inflatable mattress MIGHT be more comfortable but I'm not even sure I would say it was. I think it's best suited for back or stomach sleepers because on your side you might have the heaviest part of your body touch the ground but I do sleep sometimes on my side and didn't find it to be a problem. I had to inflate it a little more the second night but not because it was leaking, it was just new and needed to stretch out that first night. After that it stayed completely full. Blowing it up is fast and easy. And rolling it back up was also easy. I am very happy with this purchase. If you like to camp but want to save some space I highly recommend this sleeping mat. I can't wait to fly to more camping trips and use it again!

vertburn: I have to say this pad worked out great on my two day camping trip. I used it on a cot because I don't like getting on my knees to get out of bed. The fabric is durable and not to smooth so it stays under the bag pretty good. The inflation method is very clever, attach the nozzle to the pad, capture some air in the bag and roll it up. The storage bag is the inflation device. No tools, no funky pump no extra gadgets. Also, I like the length of the pad. I'm 6.0' and having my feet not hanging off the edge of the pad is great. The pad deflates simply and is not a struggle to get back in the compact storage bag. This a very well thought out sleeping pad, I highly recommend getting it.

Nicola: Once I got the knack of inflating, this has been a great purchase. Light and durable, quick to inflate. More comfortable than thin foam mats or bulky self inflating ones. Bought another one straight away.

KJ: The amount if cushioning is all right. My concern is that, I need to use it between a regular mattress and sheet....and it is pretty slippery and rather noisy to lay on and turn. Will try it several more times. I use it when I travel to a hotel that has a bad mattress. Its to help ease my back discomfort. Which did help more than not using it.

Colin G.: When we first purchased this ultralight sleeping pad, I thought my wife was crazy. I have been a long time fan of the more traditional foam and air-based sleeping mats for camping. How could something as thin as the POWERLIX Ultralight Sleeping Pad provide both thermal protection as well as all-night comfort!? Our first camp trip was splendid, beautiful weather, and my son was excited to sleep on the new air mattress. I to selected my 10-year-old rollup sleep pad, and slept... okay. The second night I tried his sleep pad, and was blown away at the comfort. I have since purchased a second matching POWERLIX Ultralight Sleeping Pad which is now all mine.

These sleep pads are incredibly thin and lightweight. They blow up easily and have an unrestricted air stem as well as a one-way air valve for inflation. They come with a nice elastic strap as well as a dry bag to carry it all in. A note about the usage, when you plan on using a pad, slightly over-inflate it as they get a little soft after it has been used for a couple hours. Note that this isn't a leak, just the material stretching out a tiny bit.

Javi: Elegí este porque es más pequeño que la mayoría y quería meterlo dentro de una funda vivac. Se hincha muy facilmente con la bolsa que trae, aunque si lo hinchas a pulmón también es fácil y hasta más rápido. Pesa poco y ocupa muy poco una vez doblado. Lo que no me ha gustado es que por muy hinchado que este siempre tocas el suelo, sea cual sea la postura que tengas o aunque pongas más cosas encima del colchón para apretar el aire más. Lo veo un poco caro aunque te saca de un apuro.

I have since had the opportunity to spend nights on this mat, with a 1/4in yoga-mat underneath for insulation + traction, & am pleased to announce that it consistently sleeps me through the night, without pain in the morning. You can definitely feel how hard the ground is through it when sitting down on it, + getting into position, but once in a laying position your weight is supported evenly by the cells so that discomfort goes away & it feels good under you. Side-sleeping is a firm experience, but not painfully hard, & there's no sense of your bones being bruised by the ground.
It's lasting well, too - no punctures, leaks or fraying, yet.
I'm delighted to be able to confirm my original sentiments; this is a top-quality pick for outdoorsfolk seeking minimal weight for minimal outlay. /update]
For what it is, this is a 10/10 item.
