Comments

Dae: Well insulated and comfortable. I definitely noticed a difference in warmth sleeping with the pad and without.

Even in my sleeping bag I tend to toss and turn a lot at night, and the pad moved a lot underneath me. I ended up waking up in the middle of the night too to re-adjust the pad under my sleeping bag. Otherwise, zero issues with the pad.

Ben G: Bought this sleeping pad 2 years ago and used it extensively in all seasons.
Easy so inflate (no inflation bag or similar) and conformable if not too much inflated.
So far no punctures or leaking (over 20 nights in summer and winter, all back country).
Only 4 stars because I don't think the R value is correct. Had to use a second insulated pad once temperatures are below freezing.

Michael Greer: Great product, this pad, folds up very small, easily fits into your pack. I used it inside of my sleeping bag stayed in place was very comfortable.

Kimball Coffin: Blows up in 7-9 breaths and holds it's pressure all night. Keep it safe from punctures and it'll keep you off the ground for a long time. The fabric is nice and tough, but a cactus spine or yucca needle will go right through it. I haven't had problems with pine needles.

Amazon Customer: It's easy to inflate, and provides decent support to for both me and my wife to sleep on our sides.

Would recommend!

P. Edmundson: Used this several times now which I wanted to do before I reviewed it. So glad I bought it. Takes 10 to 15 breaths to inflate and it doesn't go down overnight in the slightest. Packs down small and is lightweight. Also r rating is pretty accurate. It's warm to lie on and I used it high in snowdonia in pretty rubbish weather.

One tip is don't over inflate. First time I used it I found it really uncomfortable. Let a bit of air out and it was far better. Don't aim to get it rigid!

Aaron Doll: I used this inside my bag in a tent on a 15 - 20 degree night and my back was mildly cold. I moved around a lot. This was definitely beyond its range. I probably would have been fine just at freezing I also have used it in a hammock in 50 degree weather between a cheap under quilt and a hammock - and it made all the difference. Its really hard to tell there is any insulation in this at all. its comfortable enough - but seems thin for a 4 season pad. I wouldn't bring it again below or near freezing. It seems durable and is comfortable however.

Anthony Zummo: The media could not be loaded.  I'm 5'9" roughly 185Lbs and this kept me off the ground even on my side during a nor'easter here on Long Island. I decided to test out a few pieces of equipment in my backyard during a very cold and windy night to make sure everything acted as expected, while still in a controlled environment. This pad was not only affordable but didn't have any leaks, kept it's form and most importantly kept me off the cold ground. Some people suggest putting the pad inside the sleeping bag and I might try that next time because I kept sliding slightly because of a minor slant to the ground I was on. But over all I would suggest this pad for people wanting something well made and inside their budget.

Chris Guthrie: Firstly, I'm a hammock camper and as I've never tried a pad in a gathered end hammock before, This seemed like a great price point to start at. For reference, the hammock used was a Warbonnet Blackbird XLC and the pad was replacing my usual Warbonnet Wookie 20 degree under quilt. I also used a Jacks R Better Sierra Sniveller 20 degree top quilt.

The Good: Inflation was easy and as a bonus, because the inflation valve is pretty universal, I was able to use the inflation bag from my "Amok Draumr" pad. In terms of fitting into the hammock, The honeycomb design made it really easy to slip into place and adjust. It also didn't move around too much during the night and was pretty comfortable. In terms of size and comparing it to some pads I've seen, it folds up really well into its stuff sack.

The "Meh": For us hammockers, I'd be hard pushed to say this is a 4 season pad and depending on where you look, the "R value" rating system is always a bit ambiguous. An "R" rating of 4.5 should bring you close to around 22 degrees and I'd say that factoring in wind chill, My overnight temp was probably right at the 25 degree mark . I wasn't shivering but I wasn't comfortably warm...

DeannaDeanna: I recently received the Ecotek Insulated Hybern8 to try out for backcountry camping. My partner has the Klymit Insulated Static V to compare.

- Quality of Material: Both are made of 75D Polyester with the same insulation rating. I didn’t notice any differences. Equal

- Nozzle: I found the Klymit had a better inflation/deflation nozzle in terms of quality as well as location. It is located in a corner while Ecotec is on the backside in the middle. I use a pillow anyways so it doesn’t bother me enough, but I could see it being a nuisance. Klymit has the edge on this feature.

- Packing Size: The Ecotec says it packs to 10x3” and Klymit is 8”x5”. Personally I find it depends on how you fold it. I added an extra fold in my Ecoteck compared to how it came from the factory and it folds up to about 8” as well. The picture above has extra room in the top since I shortened the length but added width. So I guess it depends on your backpack on if you want it folded long and skinny or short and wide. Both are comparable in my opinion.

- Shape: I liked the shape of the Ecoteck being “Mummy” style because it can fit inside of your sleeping bag on...
