I purchased the S2007A a couple months ago and just got the bathroom remodel finished and installed the sink. I read a lot of reviews on here and gathered some great tips. I turn 70 next month. I've installed drains many times. There are few things in this world I dislike more than plumbing and drains have always been my nemesis. My sink allowed me to keep that upper silicon gasket. I used the gaskets supplied. I put a bit of Danco Waterproof Grease on the upper gasket. I put teflon tape where the main nut on the bottom would come to rest and also where the tail piece screws on. I put a generous bead of the waterproof grease in the top of the silicone gasket that goes up against the bottom of the sink, slid it up by hand into position, THEN tightened the nut against it. I threw away all those cheap plastic gaskets that you get with the p-trap kits and used rubber gaskets in place of them. I gave each rubber gasket a smear of waterproof grease. (Not a lot, just a bit of a coating).
This is the first time EVER for me, that I put a drain together and had no leaks at all right from the first test. Filled the sink a few times, drained, ran water for 10 minutes with...

I recently bought a couple of Kohler faucets and while the actual faucets were good, the drains they came with with awful. Flimsy and cheap and they leaked even though I used teflon tape, silicon and plumber's putty.
As soon as I opened the box, I knew these ones would be great - they feel sturdy and have nice thick gaskets. No leaks at all and I didn't even have to use any tape, silicon etc.

I love the pop action on the drain and it is very simple to install, but do be aware of a couple of things that were correct from previous reviews..
1. Use Plumbers Putty and add a nice layer around the entire drain hole opening prior to dropping in the drain and tightening.
2. Use larger monkey wrench with a good grip and tighten as tight as you can the nut to the bottom of the sink.
I would love to give this 5 stars, but it leaked on me a few times before I went back and read that you need to add plumbers putty, so I decided to write in so someone else would catch it. Great look though and I would recommend.

I put in new taps about three years ago. I won't name brands, but it rhymes with 'Moan' (Varese style). I put in two of these taps with pull up plungers when we upgraded our bathroom sinks to porcelain from the original 80s enamel. I didn't buy cheap, deliberately hoping to avoid relatively early problems. Anywho, both drains started to rust (notice rust ring in first picture, which also shows the new KES ones about to go in). These Moen drains are all plastic, except for the top part which you, me and any reasonable person would expect to be a bit of decent stainless steel that should last until you get bored in a couple of decades. You know, like the way it used to be decades ago? Most of us would be happy to pay a few extra dollars if we knew we are getting quality. But we can't know that anymore.
So I took a chance and order theses KES pop ups. I've always like them when I see them in hotels figuring it would at least avoid having to buy more expensive lavatory sets down the road if the drain never had to be part of the package. These KES products appears to be of great quality. Heck, I even see brass inside the unit!!! And the locking...

I'm very impressed with the quality and price of this drain. I'd spent quite some time looking for a push button pop up sink drain made for sinks that have an overflow hole. My local orange store didn't have anything that had the overflow hole, and other drain on Amazon made by more familiar brands were wildly expensive by comparison. When I saw this product for less than $13, I gave it a shot. I liked it so much after installing it in my master bathroom that I immediately ordered a second for another bathroom.
The construction of the drain is top notch. Everything (aside from the included gaskets) is metal and heavy duty. The nut that secures the threaded drain piece to the sink is particularly sturdy, whereas most plastic drain nuts feel like they may crack when heavily torqued with a wrench.
For my first install, I only used the included plastic and rubber washers to secure all of the connections, though I did choose to use plumber's putty between the sink hole and underside of the drain flange. Otherwise, I did not need any addition putty under the sink hole, or teflon tape on any of the screw connections. For my second install, due to the...
