Insgesamt also enttäuschender Zustand. Die Zustellungszeit überschritten.

Nicole Rodriguez: Leonard Cohen's poem/song Dance Me to the End of Love is absolutely stunning. Matisse is a perfect match for Cohen's words.Matisse's images have been set against poetry before, in the book Jazz for example...and some of those same images appear here, with symbolic meanings of their own--I wonder if these meanings were known when the book was copiled? For example, Matisse's The Clown's Funeral matched with Dance me to the wedding... If you know Matisse's use of red paint for the clown's heart represents the belief that the spirit of love and creativity lives beyond physical being on earth, the meaning is enriched poetically as well as visually. But it all works even if the viewer doesn't know Matisse's touching concept. It is a remarkably beautiful book both poetically and artistically. Thank you Leonard and Henri for understanding love.
