Amazon Customer: got my first rod this july after several months of use decided to get another one. very durable and the reel can take some abuse. where i fish there is a lot of wood and rocks so it's not uncommon to have your rod and reel to be put to test attempting to unhook it. pretty sensetive and casts well.

Reviewer: Ever since I got back into fishing about 5 years ago, I’ve been using Plusinno rods and reels (Bought close to 10). The first few were combos, and worked great, but the reels (3000) are just too big. So I decided to look for a separate rod and reel. Fortunately, Plusinno’s telescopic rods are very affordable and the customer service is great. I have bought several, and even though a couple have broken, customer service has quickly issued replacements.

The quality is excellent, and they are so portable. I plan to buy many more rods in the future, and they have a lifetime customer in me. If they had a 2500 size reel associated with their rods, I would definitely plan to buy the combos again. Tight lines!

Graham Krenz: The reel and rod are fine, albeit cheap and plastic, but the line spool is the real kicker. Throw it away right now. This spool is Dollar General quality at best- it will not spool clockwise, it is virtually designed to flip upside down with every pull.

Buy your own line. If you're a new fisher like me, you will be frustrated and hate the sport before you even begin if you use this terrible Plussino line that it comes with. Toss it immediately, and buy a big spool of something better.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: The information in the Amazon listing is not very complete. There is a typo in the information chart that’s in the pictures: It shows “Line Wt.” twice. The second listing is actually “lure weight”, not line weight. The listed weight of the rod in the chart is accurate within ¼ of an ounce – mine weighed a bit more. No information is given about the reel.

Mine came with a Plusinno 3000 series reel. It weighs about 9.5 oz. and has a 5.2:1 ratio. It’s very smooth in operation, with a crisp bail action, quiet operation, and a reversible handle. There’s a button on the handle that flips the handle flat when pressed to make a more compact travel package.

Assuming the reel is worth perhaps half of the $45 total package cost, the reel seems like a bargain. I don’t own any high end reels, but this is as good, or better, than my other 4 freshwater budget spinning reels. The title of the product listing suggests it could be used in saltwater, but doesn’t say it’s actually made for salt water. Freshwater reels usually can’t be adequately rinsed to prevent rust and corrosion when used in saltwater. I wouldn’t try it.
