Playlearn USA Stress Putty for Kids and Adults - 5 Strengths of Therapy Putty

L. Clay: I LOVE this putty! I have chronic PTSD and am in a new work environment where there have been triggering events. When I need help calming my nervous system, I play with the putty and it really helps immensely! I use other tools as well, but noticed a huge difference when I added the putty to my strategies. When my hands get too tired with the harder putties, I switch to a softer putty so I can keep squeezing and pulling it. It is great quality and so far keeps its strength better than other brands I have tried. Some other brands seem to get soft even if labeled extra firm after a lot of use. I have used these a lot and have not noticed a difference in their softness/firmness. As an added bonus, I have kept my hands so busy with this putty that I haven’t been picking my finger nails. I highly recommend for anxiety, easing stress, and even helping to keep you out of the fight/flight/freeze state if you are easily triggered. Definitely helps keep me grounded.

Jennifer: I bought these for 2 reasons. My youngest (4yrs) has Down Syndrome and this was recommended by her therapist. Also for myself to regain strength and movement after a broken wrist. I love that it has multiple strengths that we can progress to as needed.

Amazon Customer: I bought this as a play dough alternative for my kids as it is mess free after using therapy putty at a friend’s house.
Sadly this set is way too hard and if you are buying for children onky 1 of the tabs is extra soft and can be manipulated like play dough.
The rest even me as an adult struggled with. I couldn’t even take out the extra firm one out of the box

MelissaM: My son loves kinetic sand and play dough, both can get messy or mess up when trying to cleanup/store. This doesn’t dry out, we love the different levels and separate storage containers. We ended up getting two sets, got it for my ASD kiddo originally but all mine love playing with it!

treesilhouette: Five individual tubs of putty, all in a screw top plastic cylinder so top marks for storage. I've so far only used the softest putty, but might be working up to the next up soon. For my hand size - between medium and large when it comes to buying rubber gloves for washing up - the amount of putty is about right, possibly a little surplus for some of the ball squeezing exercises. Doesn't come with instructions on how to do exercises - I found a YouTube instructional video which helped. I do find it leaves a slight sheen of oil on my hands, which does wash off. Don't know whether the putty loosing oil gradually means it will get stiffer over time. Only been using it for a couple of weeks and am finding it useful. I do find that my hands are stronger on some exercises than others, so will shortly be trying using the next grade up of putty for some of the exercises, while still using the softest for the ones where my hands are weakest. For calibration, I have problems with stiffening of the back of my hands, limiting my grip. I have very little in the way of joint trouble. No arthritis.
