But the taste. It tasted NOTHING like meat. It was chewy and sweet and weird. I managed about three forced bites before I had to give up.

If you like eating bike innertubes than I highly recommend this product. This "stuff" is rubbery, tastes foul and the bgq sauce is laughable. Seriously though, I wouldn't waste my money on this jackfruit because it went in the trash. I wouldn't feed this to my dogs...

I’m giving this 3 stars based on flavor. This is the first time ever eating jackfruit. I was expecting it to be more shredded, like pulled pork, since it was bbq flavored. It has its own distinct flavor, like tofu. Either your a fan of jackfruit or not. I won’t be buying this brand again. I will look for a brand that has high stars for flavor. I felt it had a odd nutty flavor mixed with bbq sauce. We weren’t a fan.

After tasting a few different brands of jackfruit, the Plantu Foods Roasted Jackfruit is by far the best. The firm texture is the most like pulled pork, and it's not mushy like most other jackfruit products. Probably because it's not frozen or canned. The BBQ flavoring has a nice zip without being too spicy or overpowering. Will definitely be ordering again and adding it to the dinner lineup.
