christina lindsay: I love this book. If you're gluten intolerant, allergic to dairy or nuts, vegan or vegetarian or just want a healthier way of living. I'm eating way more vegan meals than I ever intended to.
Dana Schultz concocts delicious meals that use everyday ingredients and many don't take a long time to prepare.
This is the Everyday cookbook with a small desserts section. I go to the Minimalist Baker's website for more recipes, especially for baked goods.
The recipes are easy to follow, and the photos are mouth-watering.
However, Dana must work fast in the kitchen as I found the preparation times in the book to be less than the time I took. I just use them as a rough idea of how long I'll be in the kitchen.
This is a great introduction to plant-based eating and a welcome book for those with diet restrictions.

Tony: Dans le monde de la cuisine végétalienne, le boulanger minimaliste est un nom bien établi. Ce livre rassemble une série de recettes bien-aimées et de nouveaux ajouts à la table. Le gros livre offre beaucoup d'inspiration pour la plupart, mais je ne trouve pas que ce soit mon livre de cuisine le plus inspirant.

Cependant, si vous êtes nouveau dans le véganisme, en particulier si vous êtes sans gluten, ce livre peut vraiment vous aider à démarrer avec certains des concepts de base.

Bien:
- Facile à lire
- Simple à suivre
- Beaucoup de bonnes recettes

Mauvais:
- Pas mon livre de cuisine préféré.
- Pas de pièces de showstopper

Ceci est un livre si vous êtes nouveau dans le véganisme ou si vous avez un répertoire limité d'options de cuisine. Si toutefois vous expérimentez déjà en cuisine, ce livre ne vous laissera peut-être pas inspiré pour repousser vos propres limites.

My 2 cents: All of the recipes I've made so far have been excellent and as I paged through the book I found just about every recipe appealing. The one thing I have learned is that I prefer quite a bit more spice, so going forward will add at least 50% more to all recipes I make from the get go. I borrowed the book from my public library but have now purchased it - my only cookbook purchase of 2017 (so far)! This author (I love her website too) is now up there with Angela Liddon, Isa Chandra Moskowitz, and Dreena Burton for me. I try to eat a mostly plant based diet and I prefer recipes that use reasonable amounts of oil like this author (as opposed to none!). I personally love gluten (!) so although the author offers ways to make certain recipes gluten free (and marks the ones that are at the top of the recipe, along with whether it is 1 bowl or pot, 10 ingredients or less, or 30 minutes or less), I just used regular oats, etc.

Although I've successfully made several dishes from her website, which brought me to this book, here's what I've made so far from this cookbook (it's been a bit too hot to cook so have been making a lot of smoothies and overnight oats lately):

BirdNest: I've followed Minimalist Baker from the beginning and love the blog, and I have been waiting for this cookbook for a long time. I ordered it right away, but waited a little to write my review so I could do a substantial amount of cooking from it.

I have found quite a few recipes to be quite good (Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Sweet Potato Black Bean Dip, Spicy Braised Tofu Tostadas, Black Bean Green Chile Tostadas, Pizza Burgers, Black Bean Cocoa Burgers, Cheddar Herb Biscuits).

Others have been just so-so, and I think it is because some differences in taste. For example, it seems that the author enjoys recipes that lean quite sweet even when they are savory. Because of this the Thai Baked Sweet Potatoes felt overwhelmingly sweet after a few bites, and the Queso also was too sweet (made with the nachos, which were not my favorite). The Harissa pasta also tasted a little too sweet. Of course, this can be easily remedied when I make the recipes the next time, but I did not necessarily like the way they were written. Similarly, the BBQ burgers called for a ridiculous amount of salt (and I like things that are well-salted).

Alex: I have been following the Minimalist Baker blog for over a year, and having never been disappointed with the recipes I made, I went ahead and bought the cookbook. So far I haven't run into any problems with it, and I have definitely enjoyed whatever I have made - no surprises there. Some recipes are nearly identical to what you might find in the blog, so if you aren't sure if this cookbook is for you, try the blog first. You really are getting the same quality recipes, along with some extra substitutions for ingredients you may not have on hand, which I really liked.

I only have two issues with the cookbook. One, the thirty-minutes-or-less recipes very rarely turn out a product in thirty minutes. While they may be fast, I think only diligent practice would allow me to obtain that thirty minute goal. This is something I have observed on the blog as well, but personally, I don't find it a big deal since the recipes might go over fifteen minutes their time. However, my second issue with the cookbook is pretty major in my opinion in that the nutritional information is all at the back. I like to know how much protein there is in a meal since I have been eating exclusively...
