This book is great for beginner piano players that already know the basics of how to read music. If you don’t know how to read music yet, get the primer book first.

I've used Piano Adventures to teach for over 15 years. Quality materials to use for instruction. Full disclosure - I typically only use the Lesson & Theory books for each level. Good variety, clear explanations for new concepts.

I am on the last of my very long line of voracious and musically inclined pianists. The improvement over the old editions is that they now have the accompaniment tracks and the child steals your phone to play it endlessly while they practice. And I mean end less ly. It’s great but oh my!
My kids have learned traditional and Suzuki, but this is a good one to train little fingers to know the feel of the keyboard. Types of notes and a bit of rhythm introduced slowly.
I think you do need a traditional teacher to guide through this. I’m not a huge fan of starting too early but you could.

My Son really learning all of her basic piano from this book. She’s still waiting for real lessons but this book has shown her basic hand placement, simple songs and has made her eager to learn more.

Also… this is not a beginner book! Start with the primer level if you’re just barely starting. If you already know basic staff reading and dynamics then this is the book for you.
