The Philips HD9220/29 Airfryer is the perfect addition to any kitchen. With its 1.8lb/2.75qt capacity and sleek black design, it is sure to make a statement. This air fryer is one of the best on the market thanks to its easy-to-use temperature control, high-quality build, precise controls, and overall functionality. The detachable and dishwasher-safe parts make for a quick and easy clean up, and the built-in alarm alerts you when your food is cooked. Plus, the Rapid Air Technology allows you to fry your meals with little to no oil or fat. R.: This is my favorite airfryer. After I got one for myself, I got one for my sister, and one for my brother in law.
Size: this will make enough food for two people and is small enough to store away easily and it isn’t too heavy.
Function: it is really easy to turn on and remove and return the inner basket.
Cleaning: this is the easiest of all airfryer’s to clean. Use a bristle brush with dish soap to scrub the wire mesh basket, and a soft dish sponge to scrub the Teflon basket.
Cooking: google an airfryer recipe for whatever meat or vegetable you want to cook and use the cook time and temperature they mention while making your own adjustments to the recipe. Works perfectly for me every time.
Storage: compact, retractable wire for outlet, lightweight.
I received this airfryer as a gift. I loved it so much that I started gifting it to other people. I got one for my sister and one for my brother in law. I love cooking breaded chicken breasts, breaded mushrooms, zucchini fries, potatoes... just about anything! And I really don’t need to use oil. Food comes out crispy and perfect you’d never believe it wasn’t deep fried!

Scott: Have used for fries mostly and they turn out better than with oil. Tried cheese sticks and they made a mess, probably in too long. So far happy with the machine and look forward to trying other things. No oil smell in the house for hours afterwards.

Terri: This was an instant hit at my house. We cook everything from French fries to egg rolls in it. Both turn out crispy and are done pretty quickly. I also tried pork chops. I thought they were good, husband didn't care for them. Now, I stick to foods that I would normally deepfry. Helpful hint - it does not cook items that are freshly breaded well. It leaves the flour/ breading dry and powdery unless you spray the item with oil before cooking. With my daughter and grandkids staying with us this fryer gets used on a daily basis even after the novelty has warn off, we still use it. We haven't had any issues with it running as it should and as long as we clean it regularly it is pretty easy to keep clean by just spraying it off and a light scrub with a brush on the basket. It still looks like new inside and works great after several weeks of consistent use. The only drawback is that the basket is not that large. It holds about 2 large potatoes when cut into fries.

YKim: I bought this because they are super popular now in Korea. My sister had this for years and she said she uses it for everything and it can replace the oven/ microwave.
I’ve tried cooking some chicken breast and salmon with this, and they turned out amazing. Home made fries and sweet potato fries weren’t disappointing, plus they are way healthier than what you get from one of those fast food restaurants.
Honestly you can really explore and try to stick everything in there to see how it turns out. A lot of the times you will be very surprised how good they turn out.
One thing is cleaning could be a little tricky. I used scrubbing “non scratching” sponge at first and it made some scratches. Also my sponge would get caught in the wire mesh, so it’s extra work to clean that stuck sponges out. I think having a brush would be a better way to clean the mesh.
Anyways, except for cleaning I’m really glad I bought this!

Tracey Wheaton: Still experimenting with the air fryer. I like what I have done so far. Fries, cauliflower, chicken, all very good. Little or no oil used and nice"fryed" taste.

Kevin: First off, this machine is pretty easy to use. You don't need to be a genius to figure it out.
We tried baking the same bag of fries in the toaster oven and also tried some in this air fryer. There is a difference in texture, the fries were less dry, and a bit more crunchy. We would say it comes out close to 80% of a real oil fryer.
We then tried Japanese style fried porkchops (Tonkatsu). The meat came out very good and tender.
Defiantly more of a healthy way to go if you like eating fried foods and this machine is above our expectations so far.

Candice Fox: Such a great product. I’m very happy with my purchase and do not care that I don’t have “all the bells and whistles”. It’s really unnecessary to have a digital upgrade, unless of course that matters to you. This is simple and easy to use. Someone placed in a review that this is an unsafe product bc it doesn’t have a “power off button”. That seems silly to me- turn the timer to zero and it powers off. My food tastes fabulous in no time. This will personally be a life saver in the middle of Florida summer as I won’t need to use the oven and heat up my entire house. I did a lot of research and would definitely recommend this product. I also got a great deal (99$).

APC2012: The handle and latching mechanism on the removable wire basket and insert drip tray is of lightweight construction. The durability of the appliance is under review. Read the instructions that come with the fryer on how to use it and remove stuck on food. The outside of the appliance got only warm to touch when in use. While cooking, do have the fryer under a vent hood. And keep hands clear of the top of appliance as it emits very hot air. If oil/fat accumulates in the drip tray while cooking, the fryer may smoke. Do not cook fatty foods in it. Use a minimal amount of oil on food to be cooked. Air fried packaged battered fish filets and fries came out delightfully crispy outside and steamy succulent inside. The appliance is easy to use. While cooking, I do recommend carrying a digital timer for an additional alarm synched with the mechanical timer on the fryer. When the set cooking time ends, the fryer timer dings once and the heat shuts off. Empty the cooked food out soonest. It may become soggy while enclosed in the cooling appliance.
