Follow the bag instructions, water three times a day for a week (especially when it’s hot in afternoon) and you’ll have grass at the end of seven days! Keep watering 2x a day for another weeks!!

Usually always purchased Pennington products. Now was no different. Except this time only a third of the grass seed came up. Used new topsoil and watered as directed but no grass came up.. But Pennington has an excellent guarantee with their products, so after a phone call I’m going to start all over with a new bag of seed.

This grass is the only variety I can grow. Soil is sandy loam with full sun and soil is a bit nitrogen deficient. Note that this grass has a tendency (at least for me) to sprout healthy then die off... however it always comes back later in the season or the following spring.
The issue was probably grubs not the seed. I started using milky spore last year and the dead patches are basically gone now. To get it right the 1st time I'd recommend milky spore plus this grass seed, amended with clover, vetch or another legume that adds nitrogen and biomass.
