S. Thomas: Eneloops are hands down the best NiMH rechargeables on the market. They were originally developed by Sanyo. Panasonic was required to sell Sanyo's battery business when it bought Sanyo in 2009. However, Panasonic retained the eneloop trademark and began sourcing the batteries from the same factory - so they are still the same battery.
I have been using them in my cameras seemingly forever. Before the development of Li-Ion portable charging technology, most on-the-go chargers were actually powered by AA cells. I bought one, put 4 AA eneloops in it, and gave it to my away-at-college daughter because I got tired of her response to every unsuccessful effort to reach her being "my phone died." I never heard that excuse any more. So get this: that was in 2012, and I still use those same 4 batteries in my DSLRs today in 2023. Buy yourself a multi-pack of these bad boys and a Panasonic fast charger and you'll be set for years, I promise you.

Andy Weiss: I originally purchased the Eneloop brand back in 2008 when they were branded Sanyo. Over the years I have had normal rechargeable batteries lose charge and die within 4-5 years, but these, now Panasonic branded Eneloops have lasted me close to 14 years, which is amazing. Out of the 12 batteries from 2008 four of them are still in service today (albeit they don't last as long). I use them mainly in my XBox and Nintendo controllers, but have placed them in high demand applications and they are as good as anything I have tried (short of lithium). I don't know what special blend of herbs and spices :) go into these Eneloops, but I would, and have, recommend these to anybody who wants fantastic rechargeable batteries, you simply cant go wrong.

Tom in Phoenix: It seems like we have more and more devices that require batteries around the house and it seemed so wasteful getting single use batteries. I bought a good charger that can charge 8 AAA or AA batteries at a time and I alway have some on hand for those times when a batteriy dies or we get a new device.. Early on I tried some cheap no name rechargeable and I found out they did not last long and often they would not recharge after a few uses.. When the a red light flashes on the charger that battery is done..... I have discovered that these batteries are the best you can buy... Yes they are more expensive but in the long run they are cheaper... Yes one fails once in a while but not often..

Alonso: Las baterías son excelentes tienen muy buen desempeño, no son chinas son japonesas (sin ofender pero la calidad entre uno y otro es notoria) y la presentación en cajita (sin blister de plástico ni cartón estorboso poco ecológicos) es muy práctica.

Sascha-Snowstorm: I'm a big fan of Eneloop batteries. The long shelf life doesn't just translate to usable batteries after a long time lying around, but also a longer battery life in general. I had several packs of Duracell which wouldn't hold a charge after 5 - 6 years of mixed storage and light use in remote controls; They saw maybe three to four dozen discharge cycles at most. Meanwhile some Eneloop AAs I bought back in College for my camera flash and mic are still going strong, and they are around twice that age.

This pack of AAAs was sold by 'MYBATTERYSUPPLIER', and you should always check who is selling them before you buy. In this case the listed quantity of batteries was correct, manufacturing date was reasonably recent (2 yrs ago on mine), and I used an online guide to verify the authenticity of the batteries. Most of the negative reviews you see on Amazon are people saying they got fakes, so just make sure you check the seller's sign-up-date and ratings, and you should be fine.

One final word of wisdom, mAh is used as a marketing term. It's tempting to get the highest value you can find, but there can be a few flaws to that logic. Firstly, manufacturers may use different...

The batteries arrived packaged on a card as shown in the photo on this page. I confirmed these are the latest 4th generation Eneloop batteries as advertised. The date of manufacture is imprinted on every battery, and although difficult to see, I found this set was made 5 months prior to receipt.

With any low self discharge battery (LSD NiMH), one should perform an initial and periodic "conditioning" comprised of charging and discharging the cell 3-5 times in a charger that has this function (sometimes called "refresh") in order for the cells reach their maximum energy storage capacity. After conditioning the AAA batteries, all 8 exceeded 750mAh capacity (the advertised minimum), with values ranging from 762mAh to 778mAh. The very narrow range is an indicator of high quality and consistency in the manufacturing process.

What follows are general recommendations to get the most from Eneloop and other LSD NiMH rechargeables....
Get a good quality charger if you use Eneloops or other LSD NiMH batteries. Cheap chargers will significantly shorten the life of these high...
