Paleo-Friendly Barney Almond Butter – 10 Oz Jar of Smooth Deliciousness

Pooh & Bunny!: I was concerned about the flavor with no sugar or salt but it is a very nice mild flavor. Not blah. It stays in the refrig and doesn’t get hard. It is very smooth and creamy. I bought a smaller jar first. So I bought this bigger jar before I even finished the smaller one. Lol Great with Crofter’s Organic Seedless Blackberry spread that has 33% less sugar and only sweetened with apple juice. Both on top of a Simple Mills artisan almond bread mix muffin. YUM!

Alice: I've tried the no sugar/salt added. It's still good, but the difference in salt/sugar is so slight; you may as well get the one with it added. Smooth is quite good. Crunchy is superb. I hate liquidy nut butters, and this has the best smooth, thick consistency, and it tastes just like PB. Very healthy too.

Kackiecnm: After ordering what is called "bare crunchy" which is just blanched almonds (no skins, salt, sugar, or palm oil) that only comes in a 10 ounce jar, and is relatively expensive. (2 to $3 more than the regular). However it is the best in that better I have ever tasted the chunks of almonds are large enough to be truly crunchy and the flavor and texture of the butter is absolutely fantastic. So I thought I would make it my food luxury and order again. However in error, with my second order I somehow got the regular crunchy and although disappointed I thought I'd just use it up as it is about $3 less expensive and 10 oz of sugar and some palm oil wouldn't kill me. But I was astounded at the fact that the texture is rather sticky, which you would it would not be with the palm oil added, but it stuck to the back of my throat, felt need water to get it down. Worst of all by comparison is that it is nauseatingly sweet and this sugar overpowers the Almond flavor and leaves an aftertaste of all sweet -- much more sugary than commercial brands. I would definitely avoid either the smooth or the crunchy and read label very carefully to make sure that you get the bear even if you have to pay 2...

Ali D: The product itself tasted great and as there is no cross contamination from other tree nuts or peanuts, it was perfect for the purpose it was purchased for. My son had a hospital guided almond challenge to see if he was still allergic or if he could start to incorporate almonds into his diet. Due to his allergy to other tree nuts and peanuts we had to get something that was guaranteed to be free from cross contamination. This was the only product I found which fulfilled this requirement. Thankfully my son passed his challenge.

This product however was expensive at £18:95 for a small jar, but was a necessary purchase. It also arrived almost a week late from the expected delivery date, which might have been a problem if I needed it for his challenge in hospital by prearranged appointment and not a challenge at home as this was.

Overall I would recommend for a food challenge, but order well in advance of an appointment.
