William: I am very picky about sound. My family and friends would probably use stronger terms. Anyway, I love these. I installed these in the rear (and the 6x9" version in the rear) before replacing the stereo or installing the amp. I was blown away by how good they sounded with the stock stereo. It's even better now with a Pioneer deck and US Acoustics amp (both of which I highly recommend you consider).
You'll want to use AngleKai 6.5" Foam Speaker Fast Rings with the front speakers and 050380 Boom Mat Speaker Baffles with the rear speakers. Another tip is to use Smartmat Favorite 90 Mil Car Sound Deadener Material under the carpet while you are at it, if you can.

My Two Cents: These are slightly oversize for the rear of a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ. I had to oversize the mounting locations on the speakers to get them to fit. However, once in place, the stock grill covers went on without a problem and the base coming out of the slight larger speakers is very noticeable in a good way. I have a kicker hideaway, but decided not to install it after hearing the base improvement from the rear. I have correctly sized kicker speaker in the front doors, but going slight larger in the back is what made a noticeable bass difference to me.

If you decide to do the same, be careful when oversizing two holes on each speaker. I used a drill press and drilled a small pilot hole first. Then I drilled a larger hole which essentially elongated the original mounting location. If this doesn't make sense to you right now, it will when you try to mount the rear speakers and the holes don't line up.

I don't think the larger speakers will fit in the front doors. Consequently, I would use the correct size Kicker Speakers for the front.

Mr. David I. BradshawMr. David I. Bradshaw: Really like these speakers, great upgrade from my factory fitted hyundai tucson door speakers. As pictured, one of the wires was not soldered when i unboxed it - it had been soldered with the wire insulation still covering 3/4 of the wire! Disappointing that made it through quality control! Luckily i have a soldering iron and its a very easy fix.
