HeatherC: I have been looking for a long time for a bag that can be used for multiple reasons (travel, boating, hiking, backpacking, everyday use, etc.) and this one ticks all of those boxes. It is durable, light weight, ergonomic, nothing falls out when unzipped, my hands are free, and surprisingly spacious. I can fit SO much stuff in this bag which surprised me. They also designed it so that it can be rotated from my back to my front, unzip, access what I need, zip, and rotate it back to my back in seconds. Nothing falls out since the pockets are horizontal when on your front. When on your back, it is more vertical and everything stays in its respective pocket. The exterior zippered compartment is large and is a fine mesh. The interior has 4 sections: main section, a fabric section on one side that runs the length of the bag, and two mesh pockets that run the length of the bag on the other side. The strap has a buckle and can be unbuckled if needed; I will sometimes unbuckle it and attach it to one of the stanchions on our boat, so that it is accessible, but will not fall overboard. I should get one more in case they stop making them... I wish that it was waterproof, but...

Lycam: I bought the sling as I have several Osprey bags, up to a large hiking backpack and all are lightweight but good quality, and have lasted me years. I won’t use a traditional one-shoulder handbag and like a sling you can slide around easily. There’s a large zipper pocket for with compartments for lots of small bits and pieces, and a smaller, shallow front zipped pocket. I use it everyday, it’s comfortable to wear and am very happy with it!

I recently used it for a variety of excursions during hot-weather travel (urban + adventure both). It hit my sweet spot of useful capacity without being bulky. It can hold a bottle of water, snack, small camera, folded up hat, and some odds and ends, and still have space to carry a newly purchased knick-knack or that trash you have nowhere to throw.

I can sit down while still wearing it, and click the buckle open and have it off, without flailing around. Similarly, I can slide it around to the front for access without having to take it off first. Both of these things are much harder with a normal daypack, even a tiny one. If you're on a boat, a bus, a restaurant-- anywhere crowded, this suddenly becomes a huge deal. Plus it's nice to be able to turn around and not smash into whomever is next to you.

The way it's supported on both padded shoulder strap and by resting against the lumbar curve of your back makes it comfortable even fully loaded. Other lightweight packs I've used (like the kind with woven cord straps) are horribly uncomfortable before long even carrying just a bottle of water. The inside is also...

Devin: This sling met or exceeded my expectations. The size is exactly as advertised. I can fit a 32 oz water bottle in it with some room to spare. The pockets inside are enough for keys, a wallet, and phone charger.

The shoulder strap held the back in place on my back for 12 hours for 3 days at Universal even with a full water bottle. My shoulder never got sore due to how thickly padded it is.

The front pouch is kinda useless because I don’t feel that it is secure due to being see through. I’d put my cheap sun shades in it, but that’s about it.

Definitely worth it if you’re looking to just carry a water bottle and some other smaller items. Phone, wallet, keys, passports, phone chargers... exactly what I wanted it for.

Of course the Osprey Lifetime warranty is always awesome. I own 3 packs, and they’re all high quality.

MSP2: Original review: I haven’t traveled with this yet, but I have several long trips coming up. I like having small bags for flights so I can leave my belt in there, and have my pockets empty so I can scoot through security easily (I hate it when people just don’t understand, empty everything out of your pockets!!!). I’m picky as I used to design and was in charge of inventory of packs and bags for a major outdoor company years ago and so I went over this bag and found nothing wrong with it as far as how it was made. I am 6’3” and around 240 lbs and this bag when the strap is maxed out rides where it is comfortable, my wife is very petite and when adjusted right she likes it too. My old travel bag was just a bit tacticool looking but has been all over the world with me however in Disney it got hot and I decided it was time for a new bag so in steps this little gem. I hope after a trip to panama and to Cuba i will still be as happy as I am now.
