If you follow the directions, wait for the adhesive to bond for 1 hr before hanging anything, and press down on the command strips to press out air bubbles before attaching the hooks, you'll be golden. I removed these guys several times from my wall and never removed any paint. Keep in mind that the wall has to be consistently even for the adhesive to hold - I had a slightly raised part of my wall because of un-shaved down plaster that had covered a previous hole, so the uneven texture caused one of the adhesives and hooks to partially pop off.

Purchased these to hang my hats on and have created a feature hat wall in my room. Looks very effective. These were easy to stick on and so far seem to be holding up. Haven’t tried to remove any yet so can’t comment on that feature.
