Victoria: I grate fresh nutmeg every morning over my latte. Ground nutmeg tastes nothing like the real thing. I've bought other brands but this one is far better than any other I've used. I'll continue to buy this brand. Such a lovely taste and smell.

LeanneKenLeanneKen: Wow! This is my very first experience with fresh nutmeg, and oh my word is it heavenly! I can only imagine what the very first person who ground it up thought! No wonder spices were used as a currency way way back when! These little nuts when ground with a very sharp small hole microplane produce finely ground spice even smaller then what you buy in the little tins. I plan to grate some every morning in my coffee because it just puts a smile on my face when I breathe in deeply that exotic aroma. I think the only thing I’ve ever experienced a similar feeling with is cardamom. This is the extra special touch for holiday egg nog and any baking. This little pouch gives quite a few of the little nuts and in the pic above it shows the whole one and the cross section of one already ground. I’ll never buy those little tins of nutmeg ever again!!! The bag the nuts come in is a resealable foil. I keep it in the freezer to preserve freshness.
