T. Amitrone: I'd buy this product again. It's tasty and organic, both good qualities. Unfortunately, the plastic bag container had a puncture in it when we received it. It was packaged inside an Amazon box which was not damaged in any way. Our postmistress had quite a mess of quinoa on the floor of the post office. If we hadn't been completely out of it, I guess I would have returned it. All in all, the quality of the product is as expected.

Jackson: Initially I was not happy with this quinoa because when I purchased it I had confused it with white quinoa. After consuming most of the bag I have actually come to prefer this over white quinoa. .... This is NOT white quinoa. This is whole seed quinoa and it cooks like black and or red quinoa which take longer to cook. This quinoa has a slightly nuttier taste than white quinoa and I find it more filling than white quinoa as well. This also has a slightly less fluffy or heavier, more compact consistency after being cooked than white quinoa does. ....... So buyer beware. If you are looking for white quinoa do not buy this product or you will not get what you wanted.

HS: I go along with some review below. It means I try to cook Chenopodium quinoa by several methods but it was almost inedible. So I'm basically stuck with it.

Laya Rose: My husband and I love quinoa. We decided to try this brand- Amazing price for organic quinoa! I cooked a double batch (4 cups water) bring to boil, add 2 cups of rinsed/drained quinoa. (PS sometimes quinoa can have a bitter coating- don't know if this did or did not, but I rinsed it thoroughly for a good 3 or 4 mins). Bring to boil (about 15 seconds), add cover turn to low for 20 minutes. Take pot off heat and let sit with cover still on for 10/15 mins or until you get around to it. I left mine sitting there for an hour or two until I could get everything else done. You can halve this but my husband devours quinoa salad, so I make bigger batches. We often eat it plain, but also often doctor it up with cucumber, red pepper, lemon juice salt and pepper. Sometimes I will throw in some lentils or chick peas for other texture. Amazing! Very al dente- not mushy at all. Really enjoyed this brand/source.

It has also been found in small quantities in some foods and products like spinach, creatine and quinoa. A couple of research studies used quinoa as the substrate since it has a relatively high amount of this anabolic compound and found that it actually outperformed some steroids! As little as 12 mg of ectdysterone was found to greatly boost anabolic response for muscle growth. You can get this amount in less than a cup of quinoa. It is legal in tested sports but the only substance currently on the Olympic doping watch list and unlikely to get banned since it is in natural food.
I am on my second bag and noticed a strength difference within a week or so. I was not a big fan of quinoa until I ran across the benefit but found by microwaving with some instant oats in water and then adding protein powder and some fruit make it palatable.
