R. N.: Smells and tastes like dried kale. Very cruciferous. I have some colon issues and couldn't eat enough raw kale per day to meet my current needs so I bought this to supplement with. I can pack 1 gram into a 000 size capsule for portability. At home I just add to a green smoothie along with alfalfa and wheat grass. This kale seems fresh, clean and of good quality so I'll likely buy it again when this container is gone.

JMcCormickJMcCormick: I had previously ordered kale powder from Microingredients and found it to be adulterated with powdered sugar, and who know what else. The powder was very light green indicating a fair amount of added sugar, and the taste was somewhat like kale, but with no declaration of added substances, I don't trust that brand. In contrast, the kale powder I ordered from Nutricost was pure kale powder with no other added ingredients, and the flavor was good with a legitimate kale taste.
I contacted customer service asking (1) if there were added ingredients, (2) if it had been tested for heavy metals, and (3) where it was grown. The answer I received was that there are no added ingredients, it is grown in China, and that Nutricost products are manufactured in a GMP compliant, FDA registered facility and are tested by independent, iso-accredited laboratories. Nutricost primarily uses the following facilities to conduct 3rd party testing on their products: Analytical Resource Laboratories , Advanced Laboratories, Inc , and Dyad Labs.
Also I questioned why all the listed nutritional information was listed as zero for fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates and protein. The reason is that...

J. Greenman: This mix is well and tastes wonderful, but I’m really frustrated that it doesn’t have any nutritional information. I’m pretty sure it should have a little bit of fiber and it definitely should have some vitamins and minerals. This company really should do their due diligence and add nutrition information or explain why everything is balanced down to a 0%.
