Amazon Customer: Got my original copy at the local library plant and garden sale, then bought a copy for my daughter who is an avid gardener. We both love the book! She's already put several things into use, and is thrilled. She's in NY and they have a whole different set of garden pests that we do in California! This is well written, nicely illustrated, gives practical advise, nothing fussy or pricey, and is a book you can browse through for general knowledge; or go to a specific page/topic for an immediate garden conundrum. Every gardener, whether casual, seasonal, or hard core can find something helpful here.

musmse: A huge amount of tips and tricks on organic home gardening in an light-hearted style and a visually appealing format. Great index to find bits of information easily. Yes, it is about 20 years old, so a few references are outdated but it was the most useful and enjoyable book I read on gardening for a long time (and I've read a lot on the subject.)

M. Downs: This book is full of great tips but it is written for the USA market so some of the tips aren't relevant but the ones we can use in the UK are great organic type remedies for pests and diseases. There are lots of ideas for the gardener to put to use too.
