Pam: The one thing I learned was that you need to grind the whole Flaxseed before you add it to your Protein drink, or anything else to get the full benefits. I make my protein drink in my blender and the blades aren't sharp enough to grind them. If you have a Vitamixer you don't have to grind them before use.

Kindle Customer: The flavor and texture of these grits is excellent. I prefer my grits boiled and a bit dry. These are very good plain or with a little milk.
I have not tried them cooked anyway but boiled.

D. Korte: I know, grits are an acquired taste.
I make in water, no butter, no gravy, no bacon grease when serving.
I now add a bit of maple syrup for serving.
Organic at that.
They are usually a side dish with eggs and tomatoes.
Do not stick your head too close to the boiling pot or the lye smell will knock you back.
Slow simmer and stir or they will blob.
Clean up quickly or they harden.
We just switched to an induction stovetop and they cook differently, more evenly and smooth.
I've tried several brands and this is it for me for many years now.
Cons: My friends just roll their eyes and say no thank you to the idea.
I love cornbread with my own recipe in an oven so go figure.
