Noel: Very flavourful. Also at the time I bough this the price was very reasonable compared to other similar black garlics. Once I got the taste for it it was hard to put down.

David: Bought these as never tried black garlic before, it's very nice especially on salad. It can become sickly if eaten too often but it's nice to make a difference to a dish and the plus is it doesn't leave you with a garlic breath.

Uneek: This product has more flavor than some of the others I have tried. It is very soft and a little gummy so I would not put it in a salad or anything cold. I mainly use it in sauces and soups. I have put it in salad dressing after mincing it well.

Grace Cupat: The only regret I have is not ever hearing about black garlic before... EVER!

I have always had garlic being that a stirfry a lot, but never really knew of the health benefits of garlic. I wanted to add more to my diet and know that raw garlic has added health benefits to cooking them. My attempt at eating raw one was a pretty horrible experience, my tongue is still screaming at me for that. I then bought some pickled garlic, which I like, but it does remove allicin, which is something that I feel I need to have. So I opted to try these black garlic. If anyone would have handed me one and not tell me what it was, I would not have guessed it was a clove of garlic.

The sweet flavor is something I was not expecting at all. It was so good I ate an entire garlic in one sitting. I am so pleasantly surprised by this, and think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread! I love this stuff!!

gtippitt: I had not tried black garlic before buying this one. I like the taste, but peeling the cloves is messy. Unlike fresh garlic, the garlic inside the skins becomes soft as it ferments. By the time I had peeled the cloves inside one bulb, my fingers were covered with the black mush. Since much of the strong garlic odour is lost during the fermentation process, my hands didn't smell too strongly once I got them washed, but I'd guess I lost about 20% of the garlic to that stuck to my hands. Some of the heads are easier to peel than others. About half of the heads had large cloves that were much easier to peel, but others were filled with lots of "skinny" cloves. In the heads that had these skinny cloves there would be about four times as many cloves per head, but once you removed the husk, you were left with tiny strips less than half inch long and quarter inch thick. The better heads would have large cloves with less husks. They were not only easier to peel, but produced about three times as much garlic per head.

I like it mixed with olive oil on bread and pasta with fresh basil. I am going to look for another brand that is already peeled. Because the garlic is fermented inside...
