Dave345: Got because it's fiction hinge, and obviously under 3 inches. Not sure about the carbon steel yet, needs more looking after, I guess, e.g. after cutting a citrus fruit. Carbon steel should be less liable to fracture and the blade is quite thin at the end.

mailland christine: Très bien comme tout les opinels . J ai été étonné qu il n y avait pas de cran d arrêt pour la lame mais autour de moi ont m a dit que c était normal car c était un petit et qu il en mettait à partir d un numéro bien précis.

Sakwil: Having seen these classic, simple knives in various examples for years, I finally decided it was time to see what they were about. Unsure what the best size would be, I chose the #5 as it was the largest of the non locking style. Carbon steel (cause I appreciate the extra effort needed for maintenance for being so easy to sharpen), and pocket sized. Smaller than I expected, but the feather weight disappeared in my pocket, and didn't flag "knife!" with a pocket clip.
Feels good in the hand, and the decent factory edge let me make my kids lunch with it out of the box. All knife nerds need at least one of these as an example of a classic European working man's pocket knife

Daniel Waddell: I love Opinel knives. I have had a No. 9 for many years, but I wanted a smaller, more pocket friendly Opinel. While I love the knife, it is tiny! I have used it a few times for small tasks. I will say it’s my first foray into the carbon steel blade world so it has been a god primer. I will be purchasing a No. 7 or 8 soon.

Roly: Very small and sharp knife. I simply didn't have any use for it, so I decided to return this knife. While I had it, it was very very compact and very sharp. What would you use it for though? Intricate detail work, perhaps? Anyway, amazing knife, but wasn't for me. Seems a bit gimmicky and cute, but maybe you'll have an actual use for it. Double-check the overall knife length to see if this is for you. Make sure you know what you're getting. This sucker is small. Very much a desk knife... or with a charcuterie board. Overall, wasn't for me but still great quality.

Soapy: This Opinel #2 lived up to my expectation...almost. I have an Opinel #8 and I appreciate the value it offers with the high-quality carbon steel blade that take and holds a very sharp edge. The #2 does the same, but two things kept me from giving it five stars. The blade had a slight burr on it that I had to strop off. No big deal, but I expected it to be ready to go out of the box. Secondly, anyone that is considering the #2 should be advised that it does not have the blade lock that the larger models have.

My2inchDong: This knife is super lightweight (mine is 10g). It has become my go-to for backpacking. Granted, if you are looking for a knife you are going to use a lot, this isn't it. It's very small and the blade is extremely thin, so I imagine it could snap if used improperly. However, if you are like me and only need a knife in the backcountry to cut cheese or sausage, a piece of tape or string, then this does perfectly. Definitely wouldn't hold up to bushcrafter or boy scout type backpacking, but if you spend your time in the woods crushing miles rather than sitting around a fire carving wood or building a lean-to, then this knife will suffice. The blade was super sharp when delivered, and it's cheap enough to replace regularly. It's definitely more usable than a razor blade or box cutter for you ULers out there.

Chris Flaherty: As with all the Opinel folding knives the quality is great. However, the seller needs to change the product description as this knife is not a No5 which has A 6.5cm blade. It is, I believe, a No2. Product therefore not as described. I will however keep the item delivered as it will still be useful for my whittling but I now need to purchase the correct one. Also, the price quoted for this knife is the same as another item also advertised as a No5 from the same supplier so I suspect that it should also have been cheaper
