Randy B: Love it... helps deliver history in a casual, conversational way. Kind like a friend talking about a documentary they just watched.

asia kolakowski: The paperback cover is a little flimsy and I can imagine it being damaged from repeated wear and tear but made a great gift.

Melee: I've always loved reading history. Some historians can write engaging books about history and others less so. This book does not contain in depth looks at historical events, but rather snapshots of an event that happened on each day of the year. The stories are well researched and engaging to read. Some people get upset by the liberal use of profanity used by the author. I'm not one if them, especially since James Fell is pretty creative with it. His most creative use of profanity is usually reserved for Nazis which makes reading this book even more fun.

Joy C: I don't swear much myself, but I can appreciate a well-used colorful vocabulary. And James Fell has a very, very well-used colorful vocabulary. Too many people don't understand that there is a monumental difference between a juvenile 7th grade colorful vocabulary and an intelligent well-used colorful vocabulary. This book is the bomb! I learned so much and laughed my butt off in the process! Note - you should not buy this book if you are offended by swearing (obviously, but you'd be surprised by how many people leave bad reviews because they didn't read the title), or if you support Trump, antisemitism, homophobe/transphobe views, misogyny, or any of that other 18th century crap. Otherwise, buy this book!!

Gloria B: Good short stories of history. Told with many cuss words thrown in but it's the language of the younger generation. I'm elderley and it didn't offend me so all's good. Actually my children and their children are enjoying reading history in this book. The short stories are perfect for people on the go.

helenp: James Fell brings a unique twist to history. He tells it like it is, gives you all the back story and the behind-the-scenes stuff you often never hear off. And it makes it so d*mn funny! He curses like the proverbial sailor, so if you are the "sensitive" type you may be offended. But personally I found his language to be appropriate, and hilarious!
