William Timothy Hitchcock: I mainly fish rocks and dock around NYC targeting stripers, bluefish, and weakfish. I tend to really beat on gear and fish areas where expensive gear gets destroyed or stolen. This pole has held up really well.
It's got tighter eyes so I have fished it with both a spinning reel and a conventional. I have replaced the top eye. Currently using it with a 5000 spinning reel for plugs.

Aggie: Purchased this 11’ MH rod based on online reviews. Rod looks well made, love the grip material, guides are solid with no inserts to pop out and reel locks in nice and secure. You can’t really tell from the add picture but the color is blue, for those of you that wonder. My first surf rod and I couldn’t be happier with the quality of it. Haven’t got a chance to use it but I’m assuming everything should work as it should if not I will update.
However, had to exchange the first order because the bottom guide was bashed in. Better packing could’ve save everyone the hassle.

Wit: Not impressed. Action seems soft. Came in a too large cardboard box with both sections free to rub against each other in a long plastic bag, so there were some scratches in the much touted blue finish. Spent alot to have it arrive scratched up. Apart from that it seemed to be a quality rod. Just not impressed. For the money I'd have been better off buying a duplicate of what I already have.

Sarah Henry: Just bought this rod a few weeks ago and finally got it out to the beach (NE FL) this past week. Love this rod! It is light, sensitive and strong. Paired with a Penn Captiva 6000 spinning reel and it easily casts 4 and 5 oz sputniks 100 yds with little effort. Easy to make accurate casts and the rod tip is sensitive enough to see strikes. 5 stars given for weight (it is very light) and value (this Amazon price of $135 is the best I’ve seen, by far). Since it is still new - I cannot really attest to durability. However, I gave this category a 5-star, too; just from looking over the rod’s parts and construction - it looks to be very well finished, using top-tier components. It is a very good looking rod, too. I’m sure the fish will admire this feature… The purchase/delivery process with Amazon went very well. Ordered on 2/6 and delivered on 2/9. The rod was delivered in a decent cardboard box and the rod was in perfect shape - with no damage.

sherman: It is extremely good for lure fishing because it is light and well balanced. It casts 4 oz sinker 80 yards away without effort. But I wouldn't remember anything more than 6oz, because it has a very sensitive tip.

Duane P.Duane P.: 11’ MH 30-50lb/3-5oz. This rod is absolutely beautiful. Used it all day with my Azores Blue 6000 because anything bigger offsets the weight distribution. The guides are top notch and there is a chameleon effect on each eyelet. That detail itself sets this rod apart on top of its light weight, reel seat, sensitivity, and durability. The guides are small for a reason. They immediately keep the line straight coming out of the first one. I casted as hard as I could with different lures ranging from 1-5oz both into the headwind and tailwind. My braided line never got tangled. The title of this review is about the guides. Too many people are complaining about the small guides without fully understanding the reason behind them. As I mentioned before, they immediately straighten out the line from the first one for smoother transition through the next guides (like a baitcaster) and all the way out of the rod. The first guide is at least 30” from the reel so the line coming out gets funneled through the first, ultra smooth, guide without bunching up and jamming through from a steep angle and then straightens out into the second.
