Chris LChris L: This is definitely an "economy" display case. It'll do for most people, I think. It looks nice enough, but craftsmanship isn't exactly top-notch. For example, the latch on the front isn't quite straight, and the ribbon that limits how far the lid opens tends to fold in over the adjoining watch bay. I'd prefer a different mechanism that doesn't infringe on the view of whatever watch is placed in that bay.
If you have slender wrists and you tend to remove 2 or 3 links from metal watch bands, you'll either have to leave the watch band unclasped around the pad, or if you close the clasp, the band will be squeezing the pad. Not sure which is preferable. Unclasped, some straps might lift the watch up off the pad (see image 2). But some clasps may take too much of the pressure if you latch them. See image 4, compare empty pad to the ones squeezed by watch bands. Because of the design of the Bulova's clasp and how much pressure is put on the pad, I don't feel comfortable strapping that one down.
