OHREX 7-Inch Touch Screen GPS Navigation System for Trucks, RVs, and Cars

Stargazer: It's bigger than my old gps and that makes it easier to read. The settings are a little different from my old gps but I'm getting used to it. I do like it enough that I bought a 2nd one for my bike.

Sebastian: I bought this mainly for a large RV and was very happy to find, when I tested it, it allowed a car to go through a 12'8" mountain tunnel, but not a 13' high RV (it said destination unreachable).

Its a nice little unit. The interface takes some adjusting to, but it performs well.

Glenn T. Space: It is a nice looking unit. However, it does not auto update (through connection to your PC, WiFi or Data. It instead requires the owner to download updates to a memory card and put the card (not supplied) into the unit. Even though I set it up as a car (for vehicle type) and route is either Fast or Easy, it pops up a warning that "A part of the route requires special permits." It then always tries to route me on major boulevards, with a traffic light on every intersection, instead more direct routes through secondary streets. And as you drive on those secondary streets, the Unit will try to route you back to that Boulevard at every chance it gets (instead of realizing staying on the street you chose is faster and shorter. Maybe I am just used to Google and Apple Maps' intelligent routing.

Don W.: This is a pretty good GPS, especially for the price. The map needs to update the speeds. The listed highway speeds are severely out of date. I used it for a 1900 mile trip from Texas to Nebraska and back and it kept fussing at me for going over the speed limit when I was going the "NEW" speed limits.

Also, when I stopped for gas, it asked the reason, and directed me to its proposed place. When I went elsewhere, it kept telling me to turn around and go back. Even when I was 100 more miles down the road! Lesson learned. Don't answer the question.

Also, when I got to Interstate 80, it tried to tell me I was weight restricted...on I-80. WTF!

Anyway, I am very pleased with my purchase. I like the large display and ease of mapping routes.

Mal: Got about 1 and a half 2 years of use and it burnt out. It’s very heavy, mostly because of the magnetic connect, and falls off the windshield on bumpy roads. I did buy a smaller and lighter Garmin again mostly because there easy to use and have a good display

Miks: Over all for the price OHREX GPS Navigation is an okay GPS. Bought this to replace my 13yr old Tomtom that finally kick the bucket.

OHREX GPS - big screen, bright, many functions deep in the setting that can be tweaked, fast recalculation, pretty good satellite signal, volume is loud enough. Voices selection is fair. The suction arm is sturdy enough to hold the GPS in place, no issues there.
OHREX GPS also came with a screen protector already installed, came with a manual, a charging mini-USB cable & a car adapter mini-USB cable and the suction arm.
Battery life is pretty good. I set the backlit to 50% used it for 50mins unplugged, still have 75% battery power left.

The biggest CON I found is - "OHREX GPS announces your turns, merge etc very LATE!" So basically it will say, "turn left/turn right in 100feet" when you are 5-10feet from your actual turn!! Even when the "warn/announce in advance is checked in the settings. I asked the seller about this problem, the response I got was simply "So, sorry but NO there is no fix for this" - so yeah, if you rely on the voice instructions & not pay much attention to the GPS map - you will miss your turns &...

Khush Khambata: Great valve , Rvers end up paying so much for unwanted features in gps that cost 700-800 dollars .this does the job without fancy whistle and buttons.
Straight forward and simple to operate.
Stop paying subscriptions instead get something that has life time map updates
