Obuby Walkie Talkies: Fun Toys for Boys Ages 3-12

J. Abraham: These are fine. We bought them as a sleep training aid, and so our kid wouldn't try to take ours when we are camping. The range is surprisingly good but the sound quality is mediocre, as you would expect from a device designed for play. I find the menu and sounds a bit awkward to access/adjust, and they eat batteries faster than I would have hoped. My walkie talkies I purchased for use with camping sound better, are more intuitive to use, and have integrated rechargeable batteries, while costing just a bit more. However, for the price, I'm glad we this comes with three of them as it makes it more fun when other kids are visiting and helps when we inevitably misplace one of them. Overall, these are a bit better in quality (especially range) than I expected, but not truly simple enough to be easy to use for kids. They are a good option, though, if you have rechargeable batteries. Otherwise, you may want to look for ones that can be plugged in.

Amanda: Got them for my kids, ages 3-7 who love them. But the real fun broke out during their most recent sleep over with cousins ages 9-11... Kept them busy for hours!!!! They were all fighting over them, so now I know what to get the cousins for Christmas 😊 I have no complaints.

Aaron: These work well.

My wife was having surgery and I wanted for her to be able to radio me if she needed help while she was recovering. It’s a lot better then her having to call me on the phone or shout across the house.

I also give one to my young son at night so that he can radio me if he needs anything.

These work great for these purposes. The controls are simple. The flashlight feature is helpful.

The only downfall is that these bad boys devour AAA batteries. Each one takes 4 of them, and they will need replaced often. If you don’t turn them off when not in use, they will run out in a few days, even with minimal overall use. I was pretty surprised when just a few days after purchasing these I needed to replace the batteries. We’ve since become more diligent about turning them off when not in use, but they still burn through them and need replaced every week or two.

We bought a bulk pack of them on Amazon so we are prepared. I just feel horribly wasteful chucking so many batteries in the trash.

jaben: Funciona muy bien, se escucha fuerte y claro. Vienen preconfigurados de fábrica, sólo requieren 4 baterías AAA cada uno y listo. Mis hijas de 9 y 10 años juegan con ellos, el rango en ciudad es de unos 500m. Cumplen para uso lúdico.

Man LingMan Ling: The received package was not properly wrap and the side of the box was cut already when received. In the box, only 2 of the walkie talkies was wrap and another 1 was not. This look like rejected or used item.

It was mentioned this was the brand Obuby. However, the product received was not. This feel so cheated!
