AC 93: Finally ready to start taking action on my weight. It is hard because I have so many other physical issues, but I figured I needed to know where I was starting and if what changes I made were having any effect. I did not want something that would call attention to itself or have any kind of design impact at all. This fit the bill. Works just fine, I can clearly read the numbers, and I can see the tile thru it so there's nothing negative to catch my eye. I am happy with it especially for the price.

Blue: Even slight tippiness gives an inaccurate reading, so choose carefully which bathroom tiles you place it on. The see thru clear glass makes it almost invisible which anyone with vision problems might not like, but I liked how it "disappeared" on the floor. The reading is not back-lit but is large & legible with high contrast. My scale arrived denominated in pounds by default but can be switched to kilograms using a selector on the underside. It came with a coin battery which works. A good-looking serviceable scale at a very reasonable price.

Paul B.: These are easy-to-use, easy-to-read, easy to clean and accurate scales BUT can be dangerous. The glass surface is extremely slippy when wet. Recommended for non-bathroom use on a hard floor.

Alan B Turner: If these scales are used on a carpeted floor they are totally inaccurate - they are out by 50%.
The feet are too short and the carpet distorts the lower frame - should be easily fixed by the manufacturer, fit longer feet.

Stef: Nice looking scales IMHO. These were bought for my father who is getting on in years and had lost a stone in 3 weeks until we realised his mechanical scales were showing the wrong weight. Got him these and he can see the white'ish digits on a black background fairly clearly. The glass base is nice and wide for him to get his feet on.

After a week or so of using it I find this is still a good pair of scales but not particularly good for elderly people who are a little unsteady on their feet as it is difficult to get a consistent weight. When my father steps on it, because he cannot hold himself steady for the few seconds it takes to lock in the reading varies between plus or minus 2lbs.

GridUser: This is a large, beautiful, thin, white... scale. It takes up quite a bit of floor space, so measure things out first. I got it specifically for that reason. My size 15's hang over the edges of normal-size scales. If the scale is thin, like this one, my toes can hang off the sides and actually touch the floor while I'm weighing myself. So I thought a large scale like this would be better for me. It doesn't seem to be the case. More on that later. The top is a thick glass plate with slightly rounded-off edges, for safety. The top has a design that I wasn't crazy about, but it breaks up the otherwise white surface. I wondered why they put the design on there, and finally figured it was to break up the big expanse of white, like a sort of reference point. If that wasn't their intention, it was still a good idea. The numbers are large and contrast well against the dark background. On our old scale, you had to tap it with your foot just enough for it to turn on and THEN step onto it. You don't have to do that with this scale - just step right on it. Not a deal breaker for sure, but a nice unexpected treat for me. I weigh about 5 pounds MORE on this scale than on the 40+ year old one we...

Lilsbeth: Received today, arrived sooner than I thought after a couple of days. We could use it straight away out of the box. Nice big numbers, easy to see. It was set up in kilos but with a touch of a button on the underside it changed over to pounds. It just seems to do 'pounds' and not 'stones and pounds' so you have to calculate the stones from the pounds, but easy to do. We like it. All three in our household are wanting to lose weight and this scale is a boon! Very slim, wide enough platform and slides under the dresser nicely. Perfect! UPDATE. I pressed the underside button again and it now also displays Stones and Pounds! Even more perfect!
