With its temperature range, build quality, controls and functionality, and convenience, the Northair Chest Freezer is one of the best Chest Freezers on the market.chief003: This freezer is well built, good size, looks good, and has good temperature control. The downside, it has a high-pitched whine that I can seem to mitigate.

Jesus Valentin: Great deep freezer. I purchased it almost a year ago. Quiet not noisy at all. I would love a light inside though.

Robert Locke: The 3.5 cubic foot size is perfect to maximize a small nook in your house. The freezer has good temperature controls and love the baskets on the top. There doesn’t seem to be any noise from the compressor as well.

Kevin Durbin: Very spacious and with the 4 baskets, I have some options rather than just piling the food in the bottom. I think they could come up with a lower level sliding tray or basket, which would make for more options, but probably at a higher cost. In hindsight, I should have shopped local (Lowe's), as I found a similar chest freezer for about $200 less. Might have been a crappy brand/model, so I'm not too upset. I like the temperature control feature, as it's outside and not inside like some older models. It sure would have been nice to have an external temperature gauge, like maybe on top of the lid, possibly on one of the sides?? From reading the guide, if I want 0 degrees F, then the temp knob goes to 4 or 5, or in between, I'll figure it out once I get a freezer thermometer for it. I'm looking forward to using this and already moved all the freezer packs we've seemed to collect over the years into this. If nothing else, will free up space in the freezer in the house (Installed this chest freezer in the garage). I was a little annoyed that I couldn't elevate the install by using bricks, but the bottom of the chest just wasn't set up in a way that I could do that, nor did I see a way...

DAB: This is our second Northair chest freezer. The first one came with three wire baskets, but the second had only one plastic basket. The old wire baskets still fit, but it's not clear why they no longer are included.
The packaging was fine, no damage. The freezer reached normal temperature within a few hours, and it's been working well over the several weeks we've had it in the garage here in FL. One quibble: noticed ice or heavy frost forming under the lid on the left-hand side, evidently resulting from a small gap between the lid seal and the body of the freezer. Not sure yet if I can correct this. The first freezer didn't have this issue.
Rating would be 5 except for the air leak under the lid gasket.
