KC: I usually don't trust infrared thermometers, so I made a leap of faith buying this version after seeing so many nursing coworkers use these at work. I've bought infrared thermometers before and have wasted so much money on cheap knock offs. So far this has held true, and I compared it personally with an oral thermometer. The readings were only 1/10th of a degree off, so I feel like I can have some confidence in this thermometer weeding out a fever from a normal temp.
