First, when I purchased this with Amazon Prime last week, it was $44.99. Now it is $49.99. Things change quickly on Amazon!
Anyway, for probably the least amount I have ever paid for a "small kitchen appliance," this one is THE most useful. The easiest. The quickest. The easiest cleanup. The sharpest blades! Be careful!
I have never had a smoothie before, that I can recall. But we love them now! I have laid in a supply of various frozen fruits, and even some kale, which I froze so it crumbles easier (you don't taste it in a smoothie). We always have yogurt in the fridge, and OJ, so I made smoothies right away and was very impressed by the ease in which the frozen fruit and trimmings became....smooth.
I have used the 16-oz bowl several times already. I have used it to crush ice, to make turkey salad, to process fresh tomatoes into a puree that I froze (this will be done as long as I have lots of fresh tomatoes in my garden, I won't waste any). I tossed in some carrot pieces, broccoli and green pepper, and made a really nice slaw-like mix that I mixed into leaf lettuce for salad.....I know I will have many, many more uses for both...

Budget Shopper:
I am have been spending time out of state to see a doctor for treatments not available in my area. When in TX, I stay with a friend who lives there and am there for several weeks at a time. My friend in TX has a Vita Mix and I really enjoyed having a healthy smoothie in the morning. When I came home, I found I missed it and my energy was not as good. Being unable to afford a Vita Mix, I set out to find something affordable that would blend my smoothies for me.
I came to Amazon, looked over their choices, read some reviews here and on other sites. Bottom line on this one seemed to be it was good but not as good as the Vita Mix. Obviously, a 450 watt motor is not likely to do the same job as a 1380 watt motor but all I needed was acceptable and much less expensive. I settled on the Ninja Master Prep and chose the opton for a 450 watt motor. From the beginning, I was very satisfied with it. I waited to write the review, though, because it's hard to find organic greens in my area and I wanted to try it out with fresh greens before I reviewed. I made my first smoothie with fresh Kale in the Ninja yesterday and the second today. The results were more than...

Baileybeatle: I use this blender for everything, I use it for chopping ice, cheese, making any kind of frozen drink, smoothy, margarita's, iced coffee or cappuccino drinks, I also use it to chop veggies, make hummus, whip up cream cheese and sugar for cheesecake, and it's great for pizza dough, it whips the dough in about 45 seconds! I've had this thing for over 8 years and it keeps going. I originally paid $45 for it and I've definitely gotten my money's worth it's super powerful and like I say just keeps going (better keep my fingers crossed) I came back to replace the blades because they're pretty worn out and I can't sharpen them any more. It's really easy to use, stores great, doesn't take up much space and cleans really easy what more can you ask for! This is a great little blender you most likely won't be sorry if you buy it!
