Amazon Customer: This pump is heaven sent in terms of its quietness and uses little electricity. Can only hear the air stone. It's not the most powerful though but I found if you get rid of the check valve and shorten the airline hose as much as possible and place the airstone closer to the surface, you get a decent amount of areation. I'm using this in my 75 gallon to add extra oxygen exchange. Overall a happy camper. Would like to see a more powerful version down the road. :)

jennifer: I have a 10 gallon tall tank and this little thing works! All you can hear is the bubbles. Some people mentioned the tubing slipping off but I used my own (clear pet store brand) that I already had set up and it fit snuggly. Works great with either my 12in flexible wand or the round stone it came with. Perfect amount of bubbles so I didn't feel the need to put my adjuster valve on it either but it might be helpful if being used in a smaller tank. It's perfectly tiny- just a fraction of the size of the tetrawhisper and it's like going from the sound of a jumbo jet to ants footsteps. Great price for near silence...just the natural soothing bubbly sound.

dql: Yep - its very quiet. Still an awful lot of bubbles for a 1.5 gallon bowl... I tried replacing it with a variable speed pump, which was much louder and still more air. This little pump is better.
Don't get me wrong - there is plenty of air, but I wanted something with much, much less air. I don't want my fishbowl turning into a jacuzzi.
My solution is to turn if off during the day. There is no on/off switch - so I just unplugged it first. I have since added an inline toggle switch (and voided my warranty by doing so)

nekogata: The Nano Silent Aquarium Air Pump arrived a few days ago and I put it on my 18gallon tank. It is the quietest air pump I've ever ever had and produces a lot of bubbles. It is not adjustable but I can live with that. We will have to see how long it lasts but the price size and noise level make this a winner.

Update: customer service is excellent. Upon reading my review I was contacted and offered a refund. As such I've changed my rating from 1 toto 4 stars. Highly recommend giving this product a shot. Perhaps it was just my hose? The motor is super quiet and I love everything else about the product.

James Mazzocco: Works great, very quiet. BUT: the hose disconnects from the one way valve. You must push the hose all the way in the one way valve. This is not easy. 1 - don't use the one way valve but locate the pump higher than the liquid level to prevent back flow during power loss. 2 -If you use the valve, try using saliva to lube the valve to push the hose all the way. 3 - if 2 fails, stretch the hose diameter with needlenose pliers or forcep so its easier to slide in.

+++As opposed to many other name brand air pumps, this product supplies its own airstone and hose +++
+The included suction cup stuck very easily to the aquarium and product. we'll see how long it lasts.
+Air flow is good 6" below the surface. I plan to fill the tank higher at a later date...again, we'll see
As a new owner, the biggest con I have is the instructions -- there isn't any mention of installing the check-valve. The possibility of a backflow is impossible for my situation right now.
Another con is the short length of the electrical cable. This should be longer to enable higher mounting.
