Barnacle Bill The Sailor: I've been using this stuff for about 3 /12 months and everything I've read indicates that these non-prescription strength over the counter retinol products take about 3 months on average to show noticeable results.
So far the experience has been pretty much what medical articles and the manufacturer said to expect. I have been using it daily from the start.
1.) Some initial redness that lasted maybe the first two weeks. But nothing painful. It looked like I had a mild windburn or sunburn.
2.) Some dryness and flaking off of old skin for maybe the first 2-3 weeks.
3.) My skin feels softer.....LOL, almost abnormally soft for a guy.
4.) No real change to wrinkles or loose skin around my eyes or neck thus far.
To give some idea of my starting point, I'm a 60 year old guy with pretty good skin to begin with. I don't have any sun damage and people say I look about 10 years younger than my true age. I've used a daytime face cream with SPF 15 UV protection for probably 7 years. I eat healthy and exercise. I'm not overweight. No health problems. No major wrinkles at all.
I'm not looking for miracles, just a little preventive maintenance and tightening up...
