Damon: Just your average homeowner, for years I complicated checking live wires with my old tester, you know the ones with the red and black contacts? This one is much easier to store and grab when I need it.
It is just so simple for the average homeowner who just wants to know if I am going to get shocked or not while replacing a light fixture. If you are an electrician you may need more, but for me this is perfect.
I have only had it a few weeks so I can't speak to long term quality or battery life, but it helped me replace 4 outdoor lights.

Très utile pour un premier diagnostic pour détecter la tension, que ce soit sur les prises murales pour détecter la phase ou le neutre et aussi pour vérifier si les branchements des équipements sont bien mis. Voire aussi, si il y a pas une tension cachée qu'on aurait pas vu.
Très facile à utiliser. ça bip de plus en plus en fonction de la tension rencontrée.
On peut s'amuser à comprendre jusqu'où un champ électrique va. Assez ludique.
Grâce à ce capteur, j'ai modifié correctement tous les branchements de mes appareils électriques pour qu'ils émettent moins de tension car je ne savais pas dans quel sens les mettre avant. Et j'ai observé de sacrées surprises sur mon ignorance.
C'est un outil indispensable et peu coûteux pour débuter sur son hygiène électrique.

Jax: Lost my old one somewhere on the job, grabbed this to replace it but was surprisingly big, had to clip into main pocket.
Otherwise a decent probe, fast movements may trigger the sensor but otherwise it's good and sturdy and has multiple modes.
It also has a light but the beam width is meh.
