Coastal Cruiser: I wish I had bought this sooner. It is well built and seems quite solid. It works perfectly. You push the button to hold the door open at any angle and then give the door a very slight push outward to get it to close. The close mechanism is timed well - not too fast and not too slow. Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it. It took about 3 minutes to install.

Manny R: Sturdy construction is something of note of this item. The installation was easy and though I almost didnt buy it due to the comments stating the slamming of the doors; I found adjusting the strength of the closing very very easy. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and 5 mins (or less) of openning and closing your storm door until you find the setting you like. The hold open feature works as described. Once the button is pressed, the door will stay open at the desired location. To close all you have to do is slightly push it and the door will close at the speed you adjusted it. As for longevity; only time will tell and its necessary review update of course. Would recommend it.

🐝CM⛄🐝CM⛄: Needed these to replace the closer that came with my storm door. It was the one where you have to manually adjust the hold open washer. I was becoming irritated with it as it kept cutting into the bar and sometimes it would get stuck by itself. I love this new door closer. It is very solid and I like the new mechanism. It is very easy to operate – just touch and hold to set the door and then push a little to let go. Installation was easy as well.

Mark Mccoll: I have had this door closer on my screen door for over 18 months. It is one of the best products I have ever bought from Amazon (and being in a wheelchair I have bought literally thousands of items!). It just works perfect and was easy to install. I can only guess that the reviewers that are stating that it slams shut in the last few inches must have installed it wrong or did not adjust it properly because it gives a nice slow closure every time. So far it has held up very well to constant use (5-6 times a day for 18 months). If you know someone that has one of the old style closers (with the sliding stop) this would make a great, inexpensive gift and they will love you for it. Just can't say enough good things about it.

Whatever!: I will admit that I was somewhat skeptical about this "touch" opener, but I couldn't be happier! It works like a charm... just press the button, open the door to the desired place, and let go... it stays put. To release, just push outward on the door and it closes... exactly as described.

If your door has two closers, I recommend using it on the top rather than the bottom. I tended to push down too hard on the button when it was on the bottom, which caused the end cap to come loose a couple of times. No biggie... I just popped it back in and all was well. But after moving it to the top, all has been well.

Installation couldn't be easier... it fit perfectly into the existing holding brackets. I just removed the two pins from the old one, took it out, slipped in this new one, and put the pins back in... it took less than one minute. After couple of small turns of the tension adjuster, the door closed exactly to my liking.
