Christine Kosoff: Bought this along with 3 others to help explain to our 6 yr old about her ASD. It soured me in the beginning when it says all kids with ASD have a communication delay. I want to celebrate my daughter's neurodiversity, not have her feel that she is behind in some way. I skipped over that. I found myself reading her only bits and pieces because there were several areas that felt pretty negative. I ended up picking out 2 or 3 "superpowers" that my daughter could relate to. I read her those and the upside was she realized on her own that she also had those "superpowers" which is was I was hoping for.

T: I love this book. I have autism and I have some of the superpowers he described. It will really help adults and I think kids should get their parents to read this with them so they can understand what autism is. It's a really good book so 5 stars! I recommend it. (I feel like kids who just got diagnosed, the parents who just found out, should read this book to find out why their kid(s) do some of this stuff) :)❤️❤️❤️❤️

Alex: Lots of cool illustrations, but not much text. It could be seen as a quick education book about autism basics.

Brian Michael LaLena: This is the best book to help your autistic child understand his/her special super powers and all those involved with them on how to help them! It details each aspect of his/her super power, ie: like "super sniffer." It explains why he/she may be repelled or seek certain smells. Then there's a little box at the bottom for friends (or family) on how they can help their friend if he/she is overwhelmed by their super sniffer. Another great tool is the Over-reaction chart! It helps your autistic child by explaining that they may be exhibiting a level 5 reaction of "Total emergency- you can freak out" and it needs to be a 2 "Unexpected situation- bummer- not a big deal." Can I tell you what a lifesaver this has been?! Wherever we are I can help my son react properly to any situation by using this chart. It's in his classroom and SPED class as well! An absolute must have book.

zoe walker: We bought this book for my newly diagnosed 3 year old son with autism. The book I feel like had some good ideas but they weren’t executed well for children on the spectrum. (At least in my opinion). The book lacks an engaging story line and was too much rambling for my son to stay focused and engaged. I could possibly see this book working better with an older audience but it definitely is not for younger children.

RD: My son thinks like scientist in this book was a great fit from the perspective of a peer. It’s a long read, so I don’t think that it would be good for younger kids. For my eight year old who was recently diagnosed, he took to this well. It does a great job of explaining things and making them sound special. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a book from a kids perspective with explanation and tools to help.
