nowuknownowuknow: This took some time and effort to assemble, but it was definitely worth it. My open upstairs loft has windows with no screens. I often lamented how much easier it would be to cool down the house if I could open those windows to let the hot air rise and exit out. I sit here typing this review so pleased by the much better circulation of cooling air I'm experiencing for the first time. The magnetic tape sticks very well to my window frame. The screen magnets fit securely and strongly to the magnetic tape without leaving any gaps for insects to squeeze through. The magnets hold the weight of the screen with no problem. The screen itself, is suitably taut, despite my limited experience installing screen to frame. It holds together fairly well when handling, putting up, and taking down. If it does come apart, it's super easy to put back together. Appearance isn't bad, better than I expected.

Assembly is a little challenging, but not bad if you just take your time and accept it may take over an hour for inexperienced people like my self. Measure twice or thrice and cut once. Careful measurement is crucial, though the material lends itself well to...

Amazon Customer: This is a set of materials for making a magnetic window screen. In the box, you get a large sheet of flexible screen, 2 spools of magnetic strips (1 adhesive, 1 grooved), a spool of PVC edging, 6 corner strips, and an instruction sheet. You will need some sharp scissors and a measuring tape to complete the project. A large work bench and some clamps are also recommended. The installation process is: 1) measure your window frame; 2) cut strips from each of the spools; 3) mount the adhesive magnetic strip on your frame; 4) lay out the PVC strips on your work surface and connect them with the corner pieces; 5) lay out the screen; 6) lock the screen in place on the PVC frame using the grooved magnetic strip; 7) trim the screen to the PVC frame; 8) mount the screen onto the magnetic frame on your window.

I like the way this kit can make a screen for any sized window (within the limits of the materials). But wow, what a big project this is. I have never been great at measuring and getting things to fit just right. I’m more the eyeball-it-and-hope-for-the-best type. But you can’t do that with this kit.
