Musiclily Electric Guitar Floyd Rose Style Double Locking Tremolo Bridge Replacement

Eric: I am total satisfied this Bridge is OK for double locking, but the saddle screw very cheap. If you turn too much or tight it harder will make the Bridge base worn. Enlarge the hole bigger then tge saddle screw wil not fit no more, for emergency replacement is IK. But ling term use i will not recommend. When i replace new set if string the rear Saddle screw will worn if turn it too hard.

Rich Alan: While you won't mistake this for a FR Original, it actually seems to be somewhere around FR Special level of quality, for about $25.

Justin Mayse: I made the purchase, and it arrived within a couple of days. The bridge has some weight, and the mounting plate looks like an honest Floyd Rose. There are no welding marks, and the bend at the top of the bridge for the intonation screws looks professional. I gave four stars because the block holes for the screws do not match the spacing for a Musiclily 34mm brass tremolo block. The block that comes with the bridge is thin and has no weight to it. Other than that, the bridge could pass as a real Floyd Rose.

Jay LintonJay Linton: Wow!!! I’m completely shocked and beside myself. I had purchased a tremolo system from another vendor about 6 weeks ago for about the same price. It was complete junk. Bad paint job; loose tuning screws; you name it. It was really bad. So, needless to say I didn’t hold out much hope for this tremolo system when I ordered it.

Boy, was I to be surprised. If I didn’t know any better. Just by looking at and examining THIS tremolo system package. I would have guessed it cost upwards of around $80 to $100. At the very least. I’m truly shocked.

The paint is really quite good with no visible issues of any kind. The tuning screws are all nice and firm. The string clamp screws are all tight with no slop or play. The pivot blades are secure and evenly distanced from the leading edge of the bridge with a nice even beveled edge. The whammy bar snugs up tight and isn’t loose at all. Even the locking nut screws are snug and work perfectly. The paint on the nut looks fantastic. Like I said. I would have had no problem believing this tremolo system to cost upwards of…$100..easily.

In my opinion I got a fantastic deal for a tremolo system that should have cost...

James H.James H.: Fit my RG470 without any modifications to the body, and kinda works like it should. The nut, though……stripped out almost immediately when I was clamping down the 5th and 6th strings. The tremolo bar is loose and wobbly, no matter how tightly I tighten the collar for it. And it has an annoying habit of dropping out of tune a half step every time you do a bend in either direction, which a quick pull (or push, depending on how you tuned it) will put it back in tune, but it wont return on its own. It is exactly what you’d expect a $20 copy of a $200 tremolo would be. I kinda wish I’d have left my busted to hell Edge II tremolo on there, but this’ll hold me over until I pick up a better replacement.

Jamie Rowe: It's ok for a project guitar. Price is obvious selling point. Materials are meh. Bar is too high, definitely had to place it on a vice and bend it toward a more usable angle.

Leon: Used this kit to replace an age old floyd replica. Installing this one from musiclily is childplay. It drops nicely into position and after a setup it's time to shred!
Minor flaws in the design though, its a bit too lightweight to match a floyd licensend equalizer.

I was looking for something moderately priced when I came across this product and figured I'd take a chance. I'm very happy that I can play the guitar again. And impressed that a $35 part works so well.

It would have been nice if instructions and a template would have been included though as I had to figure it out for myself.

SpRSpR: This is my first time installing a floyd-rose type tremolo but definitely not my first time installing replacement bridges so all I needed to do was watch a few youtube videos covering installation and setup procedures. I know this will sound lame, but I do not own a router so I used a box cutter and a wood file to rout about 1/6in from the front of the body. Additional filing was needed to center the hardware to my neck properly. With the right measurements and patience, the setup pretty straight-forward. I opted to block the tremolo for dive bombing only, this also makes setup and intonation easier.

The instrument pictured is the $90 Burning Flame guitar sold here on Amazon along with all hardware upgraded to my personal specifications. This already had a spring-loaded tremolo system so aforementioned hand routing and filing was needed to get this to fit properly. Once setup completed, I gave the whammy bar a workout and it kept tune very well. My only complaint is that the trem-arm is arduous to install. It must be positioned a certain way in order for the tightener to screw on properly.

Bottom line: this is a great addition for your budget guitar but if you are...
