Mueller 1500W Electric Kettle with SpeedBoil Technology - Boil Water Quickly and Easily

Alex: I absolutely love this kettle. I use it everyday for tea and the fact that it takes all of 3 minutes to boil is amazing. I was worried about the glass but it came in perfect condition even though the box was a little dinged up. The base is a thin plastic circle but very well hidden when the kettle sits on top of it, the lid is a nice push to open & surprisingly the base is stable and the kettle doesn’t move around/wobble. My favorite feature has to be the fact it switches itself off when its done. Another plus is that the company that manufactures it sent a one year warranty voucher inside the box. Glass

In my experience, using 2 -3 cups of cold water from the fridge, the kettle reaches the boiling point in about 3 minutes, which is a very good speed, considering the water is fridge cold.

The design and quality is very good and seems to be quite solid.
This my second kettle from Mueller (the first one was damaged when I moved to another house) and I am very happy with the quality and the performance.

Laura E. Lindler: This is the third one I've ordered. I bought the first one over 5 years ago, and still use it every day. The hinge on the lid finally broke, so I'm waiting to receive new one now. I also ordered one for my mom. She loves how quickly it heats the water. I like that the blue light shines when it is switched on and turns off when the water is hot. I like that it is clear so I can see that it is clean.

The Negatives:
1) The lid release button gets hotter than you might suspect.

The external surface of the lid stays hot for a quite a while after use (obviously more so if you haven’t used all the water). While this isn’t ideal, it’s not the primary reason I knocked off a star; the unfortunate design choice is more the Lid Release Button. It’s a large silver-colored circle located in the center of the lid, and it somehow manages to feel hotter to the touch than the surrounding plastic. This was a less-than-pleasant surprise that I discovered when dutifully following the manual’s pre-use instructions (boil a batch of water, pour it out, rinse the kettle). It’s not so hot that it’s a hazard—it just seems bizarre to me that the button people are supposed to press would be hotter than they might expect based on the surrounding plastic.

2) The large on/off switch is on the handle near the top, so it’s easy to hit with the palm of your hand.

Teresa Robeson: We don't need fancy temperature settings for all the different types of teas so this basic model is good for us. I love that it's glass so you can see how full the kettle is and how close to boiling it is. It boils quickly and efficiently. Some cons are: 1) because it's not insulated, the body does get hot but it's not a problem for us since no one in our house would touch it with bare hands, 2) it's a bit wobby; we don't know if it's meant to be wobbly or is a design flaw but it does feel like it might tip over when you're trying to put the body back on the base. Still, it's inexpensive and does its one job well so I recommend it.

Veronika: I use now for like a month this product and I like it ,it’s beautiful ,not very quiet thought ,but doesn’t bother me that much . It’s says that is spending less electricity so that’s good I hope it does . It takes normal time to boil I think ,it’s not slow .

Bonzo: Had this kettle for about three weeks now and I have to say it's a lot quieter than our last glass fast boil kettle. It takes about 70 seconds to boil the minimum amount 0.5 ltr which is good enough for two average sized mugs and about 6 nearly 7 minutes to boil a full 1.8 ltr from cold tap water. Once boiling it takes about 10 seconds to switch itself off. Empty, it isn't any heavier than a typical plastic kettle. I read that some find the "tip/pour angle" a bit steep and I can see that this would be an issue maybe for some but as we're both reasonably able bodied at this point it isn't a problem for us. It's quite a good pourer as well except when you're on the last few drops. The glass does get hot when in use but there is a strip of plastic in between the handle and the glass to help avoid getting burned so that's a plus and there are fill level on both sides of the glass which is handy for lefties and righties.

The Amazon listing says it's 110V but as we're in the UK ours is 240V an up to 2200W not the lower rating stated in the listing.

Overall pretty good and worth considering

Mildred Farrellbrown: The kettle was sold with a recommendation for an Ozone limescale remover.
The problem is the Kettle needs to be cleaned every 2 days, not suitable for hard
water areas. The boiled water temperature is good.

kate: Pro: It boils water very quickly, and the blue light makes the water easy to see. The plastic housing on the glass jug seems sturdy, but time will tell if the glass jug withstands cracking.
Cons: The cover is hinged and opens at an angle, so even though my hands are quite small, it's a bit awkward to reach in and easily clean the inside. A better design would have been to have the lid easily detach/reattach for cleaning. The power base has a small upright post that fits into the base of the kettle, so it's one of those 'blindly trying to find the hole' jobs which is mildly infuriating if not getting it joined up the first few times.
