Mary: I'm perfectly happy with this overall, hence the 5-star rating. My wife complains it's way too bright even on 1/100 brightness setting but it doesn't bother me, just a matter of preference. The worst part is the power going out and having to reset absolutely everything from the year, temperature (celsius to fahrenheit), time format (24 to 12-hour) and all the cycles. This may not be a problem for everyone, my power has just gone out 25+ times this summer. Also, the mounting screw it came with is complete overkill and we replaced it with a tiny nail as the thing weighs very little.

Ari: Only owned and tested for about 24 hours but here is what I have found:

PROS:
*Big
*Visible (depending on how bright the room is). A very bright room will drown out the numbers. A room that is medium-bright or dark is best. The background color of the wall is important. Personally, I found white to be the best background; the lighter the wall the better.
*Clock has variable brightness, including auto brightness.
*Clock has some form of built in battery backup. When I unplugged it and then re-plugged it back in to the wall it kept the correct time.
*So far seems reasonably accurate (see update below).
* Comes with long cord.

CONS:
*It does not come with the little usb cube to power it. For most of us this is not a problem because we have drawers and drawers full of unused ones, lol.
*Temperature reading is off enough to make thermometer function useless.
*Many other folks report of tv remotes affecting the clock (I dont have a tv so this doesn't affect me).
*Most likely backup battery is not rechargeable and there is no way to replace it when it looses its charge :(
*My biggest complaint is that when set on "auto brightness" it...

VMilo: I’ve been looking for nothing more than a larger format digital clock and this gave me that and more. The auto brightness setting mostly works but there are some levels of light in the room (maybe from the TV) that seem to confuse it and make it readjust every second or two. When that occurs, I switch it to manual brightness. Aside from that, the three different light levels suit me just fine, day or night. Although I will say that the brightest setting during the day is brighter than I really need so I mostly keep it on medium (auto at night). I have it on the wall nearest the foot of my bed so if I wake up in the middle of the night, I can easily see the time without doing anything that wakes me even further (like rolling over, squinting, or putting on my glasses). The temperature & date displays are nice to have even though I don’t use them often. And being able to turn the seconds indicator (flashing colon) off is a definite plus because it can be distracting.

On the down side, it loses about a minute every 2-3 weeks so if you need accurate time, this is not the clock for you. I don’t need perfect time (although I’d appreciate if it would gain time instead),...
