Renee J.Renee J.: I have a Maine Coon who is very long and very intelligent. I know the product is designed to be used outdoors, but I had to find a way to keep my kitty from waking me up at 4am.

I agree with the other customers about the consistent rolling up, even when you try to keep it flattened. My cat no longer comes into the room when I sleep, but I had to get crafty because the first attempts failed.

I bought the first roll and laid it flat in the doorway. He laughed at me and jumped over it. I bought a cat deterrent spray and paired it with the mat. He jumped in such a way to bypass the motion detector AND the mat.

I was determined to make this work, so I took the mat and attached it to the doorframe (using removable hooks), making a "gate" (as pictured above). He still had enough leverage to jump over it, still bypassing the motion detector.

I finally made it work by purchasing a second roll and a second cat deterrent spray. He had been pawing at the other side to get underneath the mat. Now my "gate" is high enough that he can't jump over it, and he can't paw underneath because the cat deterrent spray is on both sides (that helps with the mat...

Wendy of California: I use to have a pet cat and we loved him, but others in my neighborhood do not know how to be responsible cat owners. We have many strays due to loss of interest when they grew up. But the worse part is not seeing that these animals received their shots, rabies and such. They are using my newly landscaped front and back yard as their litter box and these animals are sick. They are also using my front window screens as their personal scratching posts. So far this scat mat seems to be working. Believe me you will hear from me if it does not. I have placed it on the ledge in front of our front window because I am tired of replacing expensive screens for cats that people of disowned just because they got tired of them and are too lazy to take them to a shelter or someplace that can re-own them.

Lia: I have an old "rock fountain" in my home that is no longer in use and am waiting to demolish. My cats and even dogs took up as their litter box or throw up safe zone for some reason. I tried shock mats also from Amazon which were much more expensive ($40 each) and those ended up working but the electronics breaking after only a few months use. Tried these out and they do the trick..my big dog still ended up standing over the side of the rocks and puking ONTO these (jerk), but they do work really great to keep everyone's paws off.

Claudia Pingsterhaus: I think the product has an accurate description and overall is exactly what I expected, other than the fact that it came so rolled up and I had a terrible time trying to flatten it out. The issue is that my cat did not seem bothered by it. He walked right through it as if nothing ever happened! I don't think he would lay on it but it never blocked him from going on the place I was using as a fence. He jumped through it when it was not wide enough and after I bought more of it and made it really wide, he walked through it. It really did not work.
