Redd: Came in on time without issue. The book was packaged well and had no damage when it arrived. The book has good art inside and is nothing to complain about. Found it on my friend's wishlist and he was very excited when it arrived.

Bryan Euvin: Honestly, been a fan of the game and when i saw this i just had to get it, it goes well in depth with some of the creatures and is a good read...when your alone since not many people would approve someone reading this in public. Pretty sure you get lots of stares but besides that should give it read! Creatures designs are great and I can't wait to get the second addition!

agmoyer955agmoyer955: I love these books but the "for mature monster girl fans only!" does not clearly explain what you'll be seeing. There are pornographic illustrations and there are loli monster girls (female characters with a childlike appearance) which some are also performing sexual acts.
If you can look past this then the books are great if you are looking for ideas for drawing or writing stories or creating concept art with the insane amount of information in this book or you want to read some interesting details about monster girls.
The books (bought vol.1 and 2) came in a small box and the books themselves were wrapped in plastic and undamaged.
Vol.1 is great after taking a quick look through it and reading some of the pages to see how much was actually here. It is very detailed as near the front the book goes into talking about how these monster girl have come into existence.
The detailed part though contains things like their nature, diet, reproduction, values, and relationships.
Even a couple pages about the transformation of a human to monster with details on the process, physical effects, mental effects, rationale and the process of transformation in...

Umberto: I have to be honest, I’ve never played monster girl quest and did not realise how adult this book would be going in. I scanned the description on amazon and only noticed the part that said it was a must buy for Monster Musume fans. Can’t say I was disappointed in the slightest. The book starts with an in character introduction from the wandering scholar, then you get a list of contents and after that is an amazingly comprehensive list of monsters and surrounding lore. There are pages of pure text scattered throughout to explain in detail anything that was mentioned in the various monster’s descriptions and information such as explaining manner, essence, why they are all girls and so much more. The meat of the book is of course the monsters themselves. On the left hand page you get a beautiful piece of art of what that monster may look like with a few little stats about their personality, habitat, diet and what species/type of monster they are. On the right hand page is a very in depth explanation of what they are, how they function in monster and human society, how they can change and how they mate. Depending on the monster you may also get some advice sprinkled in on how to...

John M. Colandrea: I must admit, as someone who has followed the original materials from the Japanese publications, I was genuinely surprised when an English Release was finally distributed stateside as it is something of a niche market in the USA. Once I read it, I could see this version of the Monster Girl Encyclopedia Volume 1 was somewhat misleading. A number of the entries in the Japanese release are completely left out wholesale, (such as only giving one Dragon entry while the Japanese release had SIX different dragons) while interjecting a couple of entries that were introduced in Volume 2 of the series, (the entry on "Alice" from the Wonderland Girls of Volume 2 springs to mind.) I am assuming that was done purposely to pad out an eventual English release of Volume 2 because, admittedly, it was rather light in both reading and monster entries in comparison to the original Japanese Volume 1.
However, to make up for the cut in monster entries, this book goes on to include the English translations of supplemental materials that explain the world, the regions, the history and religious factors and alliances. Such was NOT in the original Japanese Volume 1 and, to be frank, was a welcome...

Shaun Kennedy: This sturdy hardcover volume is an excellent primer for the Monster Girl Encyclopedia universe. Some fans may have come across this from other franchises with similar archetypes such as the Monster Musume or My Life as a Centaur series. While there are marked similarities, Monster Girl Encyclopedia takes a much more sexually explicit approach towards presenting the concept of Monster Girls as undeniable male fan-service. The series beginning as a sequence of drawings with various monster girls and synopsis spawned an original Author Universe (AU) that has seen numerous fan projects such as RPGs, Fan-art, and Fan Fiction pop up. This is the definitive source guide from the original author that collects many of the Monster Girl entries (about 100) into a very comprehensive guide.
The translation quality of this guide is excellent and the volume not only details the intricacies and specific information of each Monster Girl type, but also provides descriptive information about the universe and world in which they inhabit. It gives you a fascinating look at not just the physical characteristics and behavior of the monster girls but expands on the role they inhabit in the world...

The Learning Man: Monster girl Encyclopedia is the first book of the Monster Girl Encyclopedia series by Kenkou Cross (currently 3 lore books and 7 story books I believe). Like several other works of the series, this first encyclopedia has a frame story where it is also a publication in its own setting. I wouldn't say that it follows the same frame work as a traditional encyclopedia. More of a 'How to' guide or 'Monster Girls for Dummies'. Given, it isn't elaborate or by far "extensive". It's a crash course understanding of Cross's take on the monster girl genre itself and the world in which he built around it. That doesn't mean it's lacking in lore or plot, mind you. This is merely the introduction. More clarity is given in later installments.
I would recommend this for people who are either already fans of MGE or at least versed on the creator, Kenkou Cross. Why? Because Cross is also the creator of Monster Girl Quest (Mon-Musu Quest). If you do not know either of those things, I question the legitimacy of your claims of being fans of the monster girl genre itself.
I'm not too great with reviews. I'm more of a Q&A kinda guy.
TL;DR: Great for people who love Monster Girl...
