Rich R: Rear view mirrors are essential for safe and assured cycling. I find that bicycle-mounted mirrors work best for me. Mirrorcycle is the best of the lot. It's very easy to install, it doesn't take up valuable space on the handlebar, and it's adjustable. It provides an essential view so one knows when it's safe to move to the left as we pass parked cars or other obstacles OR get prepared to turn left. Most drivers are courteous to cyclists but there are too many motorists are not, so we need to look our for ourselves. . .

I can see what I need on the road, and I can fold it in when I have to get through the doors of our flat to store the bike (see photos). It was easy to install and took very little time to be up and running.

TexasTexas: These are clear plain glass. I like that they are not convex, just plain flat glass. Care must be taken of course because glass can break. I know. My RadRunner ebike fell over and one of my two mirrors was broken. But! I looked on Amazon and found 3 inch round mirrors. Two pieces came for about $6 with tax or shipping. That was the perfect size. I cleaned out the broken glass with a putty knife. Then I spread superglue on the plastic base the mirror fits in. Voila it works perfectly. I even have a spare mirror for my next mishap. It is an easy repair and much cheaper than buying a completely new unit.

NotThatGuy: It works quite well. Installation is fast and fairly simple. It has an easy to read diagram and a step by step installation guide. It does have a snug fit in the threads so you will need to apply some forceful torque during assembly but that's a good thing. Once you snug it up it stays that way for a long time. This purchase is actually my 3rd one since late 2017 or early 2018. The first one survived so many drops, falls, scrapes and even an endo. At one point I had to re-glue the mirror to the frame but I am thoroughly impressed with how well it held up. I got more than my money's worth on the first one before the mirror broke. The second one actually broke where the middle elbow attaches. It just cracked apart in two places in a V pattern. Maybe from tightening it, maybe from impact pressure, maybe from breaking down of the plastic but I'm not sure. It still lasted a couple of years... Anyway, I really like these Mirrycle MTB Bar End Mountain Bicycle Mirror , Black and if you want/need a reliable mirror for your MTB I recommend it.
Mine is left-side mounted on a Trek, Stache 5. I may add a photo later but I'm sure you get the idea without one.

In_My_Humble_Opinion: This is a pretty strong mirror. I crashed and it did not break any of the pieces, but the glass cracked. I was still able to use it until I could get home, then I replaced the mirror portion only. The mirror itself is a pretty good size compared to many others out there on the market. It seems flat to me. If it is convex, it isn't convex by very much, but it is very clear and from the handlebars it affords a wide enough view to see behind you and a second lane over besides (at least) without having things appear too small. The mount stem fits inside the handlebar end so you will need to remove the end cap or cut the end off your handlebar grip. Inside the handlebar a screw attaching the mirror goes through two cylindrical pieces that are brought together on a sliding angled mating surface. As the screw is tightened the two pieces come together and slide over each other laterally to expand inside the handle bar until snug. The mirror arm screws into a threaded mount that is slightly hard fitting so there is no need for lock washers and once snugged it will not move due to vibration.
